The aim of this study was to examine examination of pre-competition anxiety levels of muaythai athletes. The investigation grup was composed from 350 muay-thai athletes (320 male and 30 female) joining to Turkey interuniversity muay-thai championship in 2018-2019 season. The demographic information form and Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory developed by Spielberger et al.(1970) and adapted to Turkish language by Oner and La Comte (1983) were used as data collection tools for measuring stated-trait anxiety levels of athletes. According to analyze results, there was no significant difference in pre-competition state-trait anxiety levels of athletes in terms of age and weight variables but there was statistically significant difference among pre-competition state-trait anxiety levels of athletes in terms of sport age variable (p<0.05). Consequently, it might be said that the statetrait anxiety levels of athletes with higher sports age were lower and athletes with high sport experience were more successful in dealing with anxiety.
ÖzetBu araştırmanın amacı 'Efes İle İlk Adım Basketbol Okulları' projesine katılan 9-15 yaş grubu erkek öğrencilerin rekreasyon etkinliklerine katılımlarını değerlendirmektir. Araştırmanın evrenini 2006-2007 eğitim-öğretim yılında 30 ilde devam etmekte olan 'Efes İle İlk Adım Basketbol Okulları' projesine katılan 9-15 yaş grubu öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi ise Türkiye'nin 7 coğrafi bölgesinden birer il olmak üzere toplam 7 ilde (Ankara, İstanbul, İzmir, Antalya, Trabzon, Gaziantep ve Erzurum) 'Efes İle İlk Adım Basketbol Okulları' projesine katılan, yaşları 9-15 arasında değişen ve her ilden 40'ar öğrencinin katıldığı toplam 280 erkek öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem seçiminde coğrafi konum, nüfus ve bölgesel farklılıklar göz önünde tutulmuştur. Çalışmada 'Efes İle İlk Adım Basketbol Okulları' projesine katılan öğrencilerin serbest zamanlarını değerlendirme alışkanlıklarını tespit etmeye yönelik bir anket uygulanmıştır. Anket, konusunda uzmanların görüş ve önerileri dikkate alınarak hazırlanmıştır. Anket iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölüm öğrencilerin kişisel özelliklerini, ikinci bölüm öğrencilerin serbest zamanlarını değerlendirme alışkanlıklarını tespit etmeye yönelik sorulardan oluşmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen veriler bilgisayar ortamına aktarılmış ve SPSS.13 (Statistical Packages for Social Siciences), Sosyal Bilimler İçin İstatistik Paket Programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. The aim of the study is to examine student football players’ perceived risk levels according to some variables. Descriptive survey model was used in the research. The research was applied on 240 students playing football in 1st amateur football league, Ordu. The ‘Risk Assessment Scale’ developed by Karataş (2012) was used as a data collection tool. The scale scores of the groups according to the independent variables were compared with the student t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey multiple comparison tests for unrelated samples in parametric data, and the Kruskal Wallis-H test and the Mann Whitney-U test with Bonferroni correction for non-parametric data. According to the results of the analysis, it was determined that the risk perception and evaluation levels of students differed significantly according to the variables of marital status, number of children, education level, family income level, place of birth and sports year (p < 0.05). However, it was determined that the risk assessment levels of the students did not differ significantly according to age, father and mother education level variables (p > 0.05). The findings reveal that the decrease in the monthly income level increases the risk perception levels of the students in the sports life. In addition, it was determined that as the education level of the students increased, their tendency to take risks also increased. According to the results of the research, it can be stated that the level of perceiving and analyzing risks of experienced students is higher than those of less experienced students.
