Distance learning or online learning is a challenge in implementing character education during this pandemic outbreak. Students become role models and figures who become role models. The use of digital technology in online learning also makes students vulnerable to being exposed to negative content which results in morality problems and character crises. This study aims to cultivate integrated character education in the distance learning process or online learning during the pandemic. This research is a classroom action research carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisting of 4 stages, namely the planning stage, the action stage, the observation stage, and the reflection stage. From the data analysis, it shows that the civilization of the character values of the discipline values by carrying out the task properly to achieve satisfactory results is growing rapidly with 28.57% while the lowest score develops consistently with only 19.63%. The implication of this research can be used as a reference in implementing character education in the distance learning process.
Karakter adalah watak, tabiat, akhlak, atau kepribadian seseorang yang terbentuk dari hasil internalisasi berbagai kebajikan yang diyakininya dan digunakannya sebagai landasan untuk cara pandang, bersikap dan bertindak. Pendidikan karakter di sekolah sudah menjadi Gerakan Nasional sejak tahun 2010, sejalan dengan itu pemerintah saat ini juga mencanangkan kebijakan yang dinamai Gerakan Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter (PPK) untuk mengintegrasikan karakter dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah, sehingga pendidikan di Indonesia kembali menempatkan karakter sebagai ruh dan dimensi yang sangat penting dan utama dalam sistem pendidikan nasional Indonesia. Ada lima nilai utama karakter yang saling berkaitan membentuk jejaring nilai yang perlu dikembangkan sebagai prioritas Gerakan PPK. Kelima nilai utama karakter bangsa yang dimaksud adalah Religius, Nasionalis, Mandiri, Gotong Royong, dan Integritas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan DBR (Design-Based Research). DBR didefinisikan oleh Barab and Squire (2004) dalam Herrington, et.al (2007) sebagai"a seriesof approaches, with the intent of producing new theories, artifacts, and practices that accountfor and potentially impact learning and teaching in naturalistic settings".
The background of this research is the need to associate the mathematics mastery ability of elementary school students during the Covid 19 pandemic, including the mathematical connection ability. This study aims to determine the mathematical connection ability of elementary school students during the Covid 19 pandemic. This research is descriptive qualitative research by conducting interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques consist of data reduction, data presentation, and data conclusion/verification. The results of the study concluded that the mathematical connection ability of elementary school students during the Covid 19 pandemic was low. The implication of this study is as a foundation in developing mathematics learning, which can enhance the mathematical connection abilities of elementary school students during the Covid-19 pandemic.
