Os Distúrbios Temporomandibulares (DTM), são um conjunto de condições clínicas caracterizadas por vários sinais e sintomas de dor e disfunções, que afetam diretamente a articulação temporomandibular. Dependendo da intensidade e da duração, é fundamental que um plano terapêutico seja realizado para a cura e/ou o controle da disfunção. Para tanto, o tratamento ideal só pode ser definido pelo Cirurgião Dentista. Além dos métodos convencionais de tratamento da dor, a acupuntura é um método da medicina alternativa e um ramo da medicina tradicional chinesa onde são inseridas finas agulhas no corpo do paciente. O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar na literatura, evidências científicas acerca da eficácia da acupuntura no alívio das dores temporomandibulares. Para a realização desta pesquisa, foi feita uma revisão integrativa da literatura, de caráter descritivo e exploratório, a partir de pesquisa eletrônica na Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), nas bases de dados científicas: LILACS, SCIELO, MEDLINE e BRISA. A partir da análise da literatura, foi evidenciado que a acupuntura é eficaz por agir diretamente no eixo hipotálamo-pituitário-adrenal, é uma terapia sem contraindicações, indolor e de baixo custo. Além disso, os efeitos positivos da acupuntura, auxiliando na terapia da dor crônica, a partir da liberação de opioides que agem diretamente no local da dor, substituindo geralmente a ingestão de fármacos.
Ao redor do mundo milhões de casos de câncer são diagnosticados, entre eles, 10% são resultantes de anomalias genéticas causadas na cavidade oral, originando o chamado câncer de boca. Essa neoplasia possui diversos fatores de riscos, este trabalho tem como objetivo enfatizar e analisar, a relação do tabagismo por cigarros eletrônicos (Ces) com o desenvolvimento do câncer bucal. Os (Ces) tem se popularizado e se tornado gradativamente, mais acessíveis ao longo dos anos. Por ser uma mistura de substâncias toxicas e perigosas, além de gerar gases aquecidos, traz consequências relevantes a saúde bucal do usuário. Para a construção desse trabalho foi feito um levantamento bibliográfico, com auxílio dos Descritores em Ciências da Saúde (DECS): Câncer de boca, cigarro eletrônico, vapping e câncer bucal. Utilizou-se as seguintes bases de dados: Research, Society and Development, Scientific Eletronic Library Online (Scielo) e National Library of Medicine PUBMED, com ajuda do programa de gerenciamento de referências Mendeley na organização dos artigos escolhidos. Após análise dos estudos e conclusões dos autores, identificou-se que, as substâncias e vapores quentes formados ao usar esses dispositivos, são fatores que influenciam na modificação celular, sendo assim, o consumo de cigarros eletrônicos, pode influenciar a formação do câncer de boca. Políticas educacionais e de redução de consumo, educando os usuários quanto aos malefícios desse produto, além de campanhas de prevenção do câncer de boca, são ações que podem e devem ser tomadas visando a melhoria da saúde pública.
Tem-se observado um crescente número de pacientes vítimas de corpos estranhos nos tecidos faciais, ainda que seja rara a ocorrência destes na língua. A remoção está frequentemente indicada e a experiência profissional com tais situações facilita o diagnóstico e abordagem. As complicações causadas pela transposição das barreiras cutâneas ou mucosas incluem infecções, hemorragia, lesão a estruturas nobres e rejeição associada a inflamações por reação de corpo estranho. O diagnóstico pode ser realizado por meio de ultrassonografia, tomografia computadorizada e radiografias planas e, em muitas situações, a abordagem poderá ser planejada apenas pelo Cirurgião Bucomaxilofacial, sob anestesia local ou geral desde que não haja risco iminente de morte para o paciente, caso contrário, a abordagem deverá ser multiprofissional. O presente estudo tem por finalidade descrever o planejamento bem como a abordagem cirúrgica proposta para a remoção de agulhas fraturadas na intimidade da língua sob anestesia local pautada em breve revisão da literatura. Concluiu-se com este trabalho que a permanência destes corpos estranhos em contato com os tecidos pode acarretar complicações que podem até mesmo causar risco de morte para o paciente, sendo necessário e indicado a remoção o mais precocemente possível.
Introdução: O envelhecimento populacional compreende um fenômeno em crescimento, tornando-se um desafio para todos e, em especial, para os serviços de saúde, pois impulsiona também o aumento da prevalência das doenças crônicas degenerativas e, consequentemente, a hospitalização dos idosos Objetivo: Identificar as práticas assistenciais de enfermagem voltadas à humanização direcionada ao atendimento do idoso hospitalizado. Método: Revisão Integrativa, uma Prática Baseada em Evidências (PBE), em que foram identificados 93 artigos extraídos das bases de dados indexadas na Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS): Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (Portal CAPES) e Sistema Online de Busca e Análise de Literatura Médica (MEDLINE). Foram selecionados mediante a leitura analítica 10 artigos, considerando como critério de inclusão os artigos completos disponíveis na íntegra, no idioma português e publicados entre os anos de 2017 e 2021, com discussões relevantes ao idoso hospitalizado. Como critério de exclusão, artigos duplicados, fora do tema e do período definido para essa pesquisa. Resultados: Mediante a leitura dos artigos que compõem o corpus desta pesquisa, observa-se que, apesar de ser uma prática conhecida e desenvolvida por muitos, ainda se faz necessária a realização de novos estudos que possibilitem abordagens a partir das opiniões dos próprios idosos, não apenas dos profissionais, visto que essa é uma população que tende a crescer ainda mais e, sobretudo, porque a humanização durante o atendimento é uma prática preconizada em lei.
A bactéria Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) possui uma capacidade exímia de se adaptar, sobreviver e se colonizar dentro de ambientes ácidos como a mucosa gastrointestinal, causando inúmeras complicações como úlceras peptídicas, cânceres, gastrite e linfomas, como o linfoma MALT, sendo uma neoplasia de células B, subtipo dos linfomas não-Hodgkin. O objetivo desse trabalho é investigar quais relações existem entre a infecção pela H. pylori com as características e aspectos do surgimento do linfoma MALT. Este estudo foi realizado através de um levantamento bibliográfico nas bases de dados: Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), Scientific Eletronic Library Online (SciELO), Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS) na PubMed (National Library of Medicine), com auxílio dos Descritores de Ciências da Saúde (DeCS): Helicobacter pylori, Linfoma MALT e Câncer Gástrico, agrupados com o operador booleano “AND” e “OR”. Os critérios de inclusão foram artigos gratuitos, em português e ingles, com recorte temporal de 2011 a 2022. Os critérios de exclusão foram estudos que fora do tema proposto, repetidos, incompletos, resumos simples ou resenhas. A coleta resultou em 112 artigos, 47 eram duplicados e outros 65 foram excluídos pela leitura rápida de título e resumo, restando 30 estudos lidos por completo e após analise mais 18 foram eliminados, restando 12 artigos para compor essas pesquisa. Como resultado e conclusão das pesquisas, identificou-se que a H. pylori causa modificações químicas e celulares, principalmente inflamatórias, resultando em desequilíbrio e envelhecimento celular, tornando-a um fator predisponente ao linfoma MALT.
