Additional cryptotanshinon is found in Rosrnarintzs officinalis.Die innersten Rindenschichten der frischen Wurzeln von Salvia officinalis, S. pratensis und Rosmarinus officinalis zeigen eine gelbe bis orangegelbe Farbe. Beim Lagern der Wurzeln geht sie in ein schmutziges Braun iiber. Die farbigen Pigmente lassen sich den luflgetrockneten Wurzeln mittels unpolarer Losungsmittel entziehen.Zur Extraktion der Wurzel von Salvia pratensis diente Petrolather. Erst nach erneuter Aufnahme des Extraktions-Riickstandes in Petrolather fallt beim Kiihlen ein orangegelbes Pulver aus. Wird es mit heiBem Methanol aufgenommen und die Losung iiber Aktivkohle filtriert, so kristallisieren aus dem Filtrat zunachst gelbe, strahlenforrnige Nadeln (Ausbeute ca. 2,5%, jeweils bezogen auf Trockendroge). Nach ihrem Abfiltrieren und nach mehrtagigem Stehen des rotbraunen 'Filtrats kristallisieren gelborange, rhombische Platten (0,6%).Rosmarinwurzel extrahierten wir mit Dichlormethan. Der im Vakuum eingeengte Auszug wird iiber Kieselgel chromatographiert. Benzol eluiert eine gleiche Verbindung wie Petrolather aus Wiesensalbei (0,02%). Benzol mit 20% Athylaietat oder PetrolatherlAther (6 : 4) losen noch zwei weitere Pigmente (ca. je 0,035%) von der Saule.Die beiden aus Wiesensalbei und zwei der aus der Rosmarinwurzel isolierten Pigmente farben sich beim Bedampfen mit NHS violett. Nach schon friiher von uns an Murzeln des offizinellen Sa'lbeis gesammelten Erfahrungen [2] war zu vermuten, daB die unter Hydroxylionen-EinfluB erfolgende Farbanderung auf o-Hydroxy-p-chinone vom Typ des Royleanons (I) hinweist.Vorgetragen auf der Tagung der Gesellschafl fiir Arzneipflanzenforschutlg in Helsinki, 20.-29.7. 1972.
