A B S T R A C T PurposeIntensive postoperative surveillance is associated with improved survival and recommended for patients with late stage (stage IIB and III) colon cancer. We hypothesized that stage I and IIA colon cancer patients would experience similar benefits.
Patients and Methods
ConclusionPatients with early-stage colon cancer have similar sites of recurrence, and receive similar benefit from postrecurrence therapy as late-stage patients; implementation of surveillance guidelines for early-stage patients is appropriate.
Laparoscopic revisional antireflux surgery is effective treatment for patients with failed primary fundoplications. Successful revisional surgery depends on identification and correction of the reason for primary fundoplication failure.
There are several methods to construct a vagina in case of a congenital vaginal agenesis. The significance of minimal-invasive technics, especially the laparascopian Vecchietti operation, increases continuously. The sigmoid neovagina was performed up to now per laparotomiam only. By performing it endoscopically, the postoperative discomfort for the patient was reduced in comparance to laparatomian operation. Some disadvantages of the laparoscopy Vecchietti operation and advantages of the sigmoid neovagina convinced us to support and develop this endoscopic method.
