Degree-days in the estimates of growth rates of four soybean cultivars in different planting dates ABSTRACT: In order to evaluate four soybean cultivars growth rates (two transgenic and two conventional) based on accumulated degree-days (DDG) between the phenological phases, in Middle-North region of Mato Grosso, Brazil, in Oxisol Yellow dystrophic soil. Were evaluated two transgenic cultivars (TMG 132 and GB 874 RR) and two conventional (MSOY 8757 and MSOY 8866), both with late cycle in five sowing dates, with ten-day intervals (10 days) from 18 October, 14 to 27 November, 14. Was determined the following rates: LAI (leaf area index), TCC (growth rate of culture, expressed), TCR (relative growth rate) and TAL (net assimilation rate). In obtaining DDG used the Ometto method, based on minimum and maximum temperatures of 14 and 36 °C, respectively. In general, the polynomial regression of second and third order were obtained, with higher coefficients of determination (R2) for estimates of TAL and TCR.
A B S T R A C TThe objective was to determine the crop evapotranspiration (ETc) and crop coefficients (Kc) of tropical forest seedlings over a 135-day cycle, in the climatic conditions of the Cerrado-Amazon transitional region (11º 51' 08 "S; 55º 30' 56" W; altitude of 371 m). Five native species (Tabebuia impetiginosa, Tabebuia roseoalba, Handroanthus chrysotrichus, Parkia pendula and Parkia platycephala) and one exotic species (Adenanthera pavonina) were evaluated in seven shading conditions: 35, 50 and 80% black nets (Polyolefin); green Frontinet®, red ChromatiNet® and blue ChromatiNet® of 50% shading; and full sun. Reference evapotranspiration (ETo) was obtained by the Penman-Monteith FAO-56 method and the crop evapotranspiration of the seedlings (ETc) was given by daily weighing. The Kc values were obtained by dividing ETo by ETc. At 135 DAT, destructive analysis was performed to determine the leaf area. In full sun conditions, ETc varied from 3.9 (P. pendula) to 5.0 mm d -1 (T. roseoalba). The increase in the shading percentage promotes reduction in leaf area, ETc and Kc. Colored nets with 50% shading generate similar water demands.
ALLOMETRIC EQUATIONS FOR LEAF BLADE AREA ESTIMATION OF TEAK ABSTRACT: The objective of this work was to generate and validate 16 simplified models to estimate the leaf limb area of Tectona grandis L. trees. Leaves of adult trees were collected at homogeneous plantations and isolated matrices, in the upper, middle and basal strata of the crowns totalizing 1800 sheets. The actual leaf area was determined using the “Area Meter” leaf area integrator (LI-3100C). In the estimation models, the leaf area was considered as a dependent variable, dry mass and leaf linear dimensions (length - C and width of the middle leaf - L) as independent variables. For calibration and statistical validation, 70% and 30% of the leaves were used in this order. In the statistical performance evaluation (validation) we used the mean error (MBE), quadratic root mean error (RMSE) and Wilmott adjustment index (dw). We used the method of weighted values of statistical codes (Vp) to define the best model. Models employing C and L joint measurements provide better estimates of T. grandis leaf limb area, with the AF = 0.5776 C * L model being overestimated 13.98 cm², scattering 61.99. cm² and adjustment of 0.99. Considering the dry mass, the model AF = 91.9164 MS is recommended. Keywords: Tectona grandis L.; statistics indicatives; leaf morphometry.
ABSTRACTThe objective of this work was to determine the volumetric contraction for the peeled pine nuts and the drying curve for peeled and shelled pine nuts using temperatures of 50, 60 and 70ºC for flour production. The pine nuts had a humidity of 37% b.s and were dried in three forced ventilation greenhouses until they reached 10% b.s. Each greenhouse was set at a drying temperature and contained 3 trays with 9 shelled pine nuts each and 3 trays with 9 shelled pine nuts each. At the beginning of drying, 3 pine nuts of each tray without shell were marked, removing the initial dimensions (Ao, Bo and Co) and determining the weight later, at the end of drying, the dimensions (A, B and C) were obtained. pinion weight to then determine the volumetric contraction. All models used to adjust the pinion drying curve presented excellent performance, however, due to its simplicity, it is recommended to use the "de" model for both shelled and shelled pine nuts at temperatures of 50, 60 and and 70ºC. In the analysis of the volumetric contraction and water loss of shelled pine nuts, the higher the temperature, the greater the water loss and the volumetric contraction, and the shorter the drying time. It was concluded that the increase in temperature reflected in the decrease of drying time. In addition, the "Page" model is recommended for drying Araucaria pine nuts, when the purpose is flour production.
