Es wird eine mSgliehst genaue Bereehnung des Grundterms' voi~ Ortho-Helium und des zweiten S-Terms yon Par-Helium durehgeftihrt. Ira ersteren Falle erh~lt man praktiseh absolute Ubereinstimmung mit dem beobachteten Wert, es ergibt sich sowohl theorei~isch als expe~nentell die effektive Quantenzahl 1,689. Bei Par-Helium betr~gt die Differenz zwisehen dem beobachteten und dem bereehneten Weft noch 7~ der auf das ,,Leuchtelektron" bezogenen Energie oder 0,5O]oo der Gesamtenergie. Anders ausgedriicl~ finder man bei der Bereehnung die effektive Quantenzahl 1,858 gegen die experimentell bestimmte 1,851. E~leitung. Unter den verschiedenen Zust~nden des He-Atoms bietendie S-Zust~nde --ihrem wasserstoffun~hnliehen Charakter entsprechend" der theoretischen ttandhabung die grSl~ten Schwierigkeiten. In bekannten Arbeiten yon Heisenberg* wird zuerst der qualitative Charakter der Heliumspektra klar erkannt. Auch sind deft die wassersr P-, D-, F-Terme usw: mit Erfolg quantitativ berechnet. Weiter ist bei dem Grundterm nach den letzten Arbeir yon Hylleraas** die Ubereinstimmung zwischen The0rie und Erfahrung als endgfilr bewiesen zu betrachten.Da der Grundterm, obwohl ein Par-Term, energetisch eine Mittelstellung-z~ischen den Par-und Ortho-Termen einnimmt, so w~re das ganze Energieproblem des Heliumatoms (abgesehen yon der Feinstruktur) erst dann befriedigend gelSst, wenn man auch die hSheren S-Terme berechnen kSnnte. Nun ist die Rydbergkorrektion dieser Terme yon der Hauptquantenzahl n ~ 2 an praktisch konstanr Daher wiirde es wohl gentigen, einige der ersten Terme oder noch besser die beiden Grenzf~lle n : 2 und n = co zu behandeln. Im letzteren Falle, also bei sehr hohen Quantenzahlen, l~l~t sich eine besondere Art yon StSrungsreehnung in Anwendung bringen, fiber die a. a. O. beriehtet werden sell. Wenn auch die Resultate bei sehr hohen Quantenzahlen nicht ganz befriedigend sind, zeigen sie doch deutlieh in die richtige Richtung hin und ergeben grSl~em
