Precise conductance measurements are reported for tetraethylammonium
perchlorate (Et4NClO4),
tetrapropylammonium perchlorate
(Pr4NClO4), and tetrabutylammonium
perchlorate (Bu4NClO4) in
2-methoxyethanol (1) + water (2) at 298.15 K. The limiting molar
conductivity (Λ°), the association
constant (K
A), and the association distance
(R) in the solvent mixtures have been evaluated from
the
conductance−concentration data using the 1978 Fuoss conductance
equation. The results have been
explained in terms of ion−ion interactions and the structural changes
in the solvent mixtures.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
