Der Begriff ‚Literatur der Inneren Emigration' bezeichnet literarische Texte, die in Deutschland in den Jahren zwischen 1933 und 1945 entstanden und nicht den Vorgaben der nationalsozialistischen Kulturpolitik entsprachen. Der Begriff konstituiert sich in mehrfacher Hinsicht als ein Gegenbegriff zu dem der Exilliteratur. Er ist, obgleich von Anfang an umstritten, bis heute in Literaturgeschichten und Lexikoneinträgen gebräuchlich. Die vielschichtigen Implikationen, die ihn für die exilliterarische Forschung relevant machen, verlangen eine Rekonstruktion der Begriffs-und Diskursgeschichte sowie die Prüfung alternativer Begrifflichkeiten am Beispiel exponierter Werke der ‚Literatur der Inneren Emigration'.Wesentlicher Bestandteil der nationalsozialistischen Politik war ihre Kulturpolitik. Die Kontrolle der sogenannten ‚schönen Literatur' spielte dabei eine zentrale Rolle. Um das Ziel einer umfassenden Monopolisierung der Kommunikation zu erreichen, war ein Zensurapparat von enormen Ausmaßen nötig. 1 1933 wurde von Joseph Goebbels die Reichsschrifttumskammer (RSK) als eine der sieben Unterabteilungen der Reichskulturkammer eingerichtet. Ab 1934 musste sich jede Autorin und jeder Autor, die oder der in Deutschland veröffentlichen wollte, bei der RSK registrieren lassen. Voraussetzung für die Aufnahme in die RSK war der ‚Ariernachweis'. Diese Regelungen betrafen alle jüdischen Autorinnen und Autoren, unabhängig von der literarischen Qualität ihrer Werke, auch unabhängig davon, welche Auffassungen sie in ihren Werken vertraten. Betroffen waren zudem nichtjüdische Autoren, die nicht bereit waren, der Ideologie der neuen Machthaber Folge zu leisten -so wie etwa Irmgard Keun, deren der Neuen Sachlichkeit verpflichtete Werke mit dem Stempel einer ‚antideutschen Asphaltliteratur' versehen wurden. Ihre eben erst begonnene Karriere kam damit zu einem jähen Ende, erst kurz vor ihrem Tod im Jahr 1982 begann man sich dank Jürgen Serkes verdienstvoller Darstellung über Die verbrannten Dichter (1977) wieder für das Werk Irmgard Keuns zu interessieren. 2 Betroffen war auch ein Autor wie Oskar
