Hitanoaren erabileran alde handia dago igorlearen nahiz hartzailearen generoaren arabera: joera orokortua da hika gutxiago egiten dutela emakumeek, eta egiten zaiela emakumeei, eta gizonen arteko erabilera gailentzen dela. Ikerketa honetan Azpeitian hitanoarekikoak zertan diren aztertu dugu. Galde-sorta bidez 1.247 herritarren erantzunak jaso ditugu. Lortutako datuen arabera, Azpeitia hitanoa sendo dagoen gune gutxietako bat izanik ere, patroi berari segitzen dio, eta alde handiak ikusten dira adinaren eta generoaren arabera. Parte-hartzaile helduek horren atzean egon litezkeen arrazoiak zein diren erantzun dute galde-sortan. Gure jendarteko egiturazko sexismoa da gako nagusia, hortik eratortzen diren hainbat faktorek pisu handia baitute hizkuntzen erabileran.
Zukako elkarrizketa batean, aldizka hitanora jauzi egitearen atzean zer dagoen aztertu nahi du lan honek. Baina oso testuinguru espezifikoa aukeratu da azterlana gauzatzeko: ohiko hitano-erabiltzailea ez den gazte bat, sare sozialetan. Parte-hartzaile horrek sei urtean zehar Instagram plataforman izandako 1.870 txat-elkarrizketa arakatu ditugu, bereziki hika egindako adierazpenetan begia jarriz. Hor jasotakoei ikerketa-tradizio sendoa daukaten bi eremutako ekarpenak aplikatu dizkiegu: Jakobsonen hizkuntza-funtzioak eta kode-aldaketen tipologiak sailkatzeko proposamenak. Ikusi dugu hitanoaren erabilera adierazkorraren tipologiak sailkatzeko helduleku emankorrak izan daitezkeela bi eremuok. Ikusitakoen ondorio gisa, hitanoa biziberritzeko balizko egitasmoak martxan jartzeko pistaren bat atera dugu, baina kasu honetan formaren azterketa egitera mugatu gara eta beharrezkoa litzateke funtzioarekikoak ezagutzeko azterketa kualitatiboak egitea.
These are not good times for colloquial relationships in the Basque language. The knowledge and use of hitano (the familiar form of the language) have diminished in recent decades. In places where it is still used is increasingly restricted to conversations between men, for many reasons. The study sets out to analyse the current situation and offer a snapshot –as complete as possible– from various perspectives: data on use, transmission, the importance of the gender variable, hitano in the cultural world in euskera, among others. We reach the conclusion that the academic world and social movements should go hand-in-hand so that hitano can flourish and not just remain in a bubble. • Key words: hitano, transmission, gender, the media, cultural expressions, new speakers.
