Em meio à pandemia da COVID-19, mudanças nas práticas assistenciais podem aumentar as infecções e os casos de enterocolite necrosante, doença grave de origem multifatorial, que atinge o trato gastrointestinal do recém-nascido prematuro. O estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a etiologia do surto de enterocolite necrosante na unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal de uma maternidade pública de referência durante a pandemia do Covid-19, analisando os principais fatores de risco envolvidos. O presente artigo é retrospectivo, observacional e descritivo, baseado na coleta e análise de dados dos prontuários. A população do estudo foi constituída por recém-nascidos prematuros diagnosticados com enterocolite necrosante nos meses de março e abril de 2021. Em 30 dias, 10 neonatos tiveram diagnóstico de enterocolite necrosante, entre eles 1 recém-nascido a termo e 9 pré-termos. Desses, 3 neonatos foram excluídos, devido à falta de dados nos prontuários, totalizando 7 participantes na população estudada. Tal população englobou prematuros de 25 a 33 semanas de idade gestacional, com peso de nascimento de 670 a 1965 g. Com a diminuição dos estoques de leite humano e impossibilidade de ordenha à beira leito, em decorrência das mudanças estruturais e das práticas assistenciais pela pandemia do Covid 19, 100% (7) dos recém-nascidos receberam leite materno pasteurizado complementado com fórmula láctea. Observamos que os fatores ambientais e as práticas alimentares alteradas pela falta do leite humano combinados com a susceptibilidade dos recém-nascidos contribuíram para aumentar os riscos do desenvolvimento da doença e ocorrência do surto na unidade.
A dengue é um grave problema mundial de saúde, principalmente no Brasil, tornando-se uma epidemia de grande magnitude. Mesmo conhecendo a epidemiologia da doença, ainda existe um grande número de casos em todo território nacional, especialmente na região nordeste, como no estado de Alagoas, devido a fatores difíceis de serem combatidos, agravando a incidência. O entendimento do quadro epidemiológico e da atual situação de casos permite conhecer as dificuldades que estão sendo enfrentadas para impedir a ocorrência desta enfermidade e do risco potencial do reflexo destes acontecimentos para a população alagoana, sendo fundamentais para que dirigentes e profissionais da rede de serviços do SUS possam discutir, posicionar-se e orientar suas estratégias de intervenção neste campo. Investigar sobre o número de casos, sua distribuição entre os sexos, faixas etárias e entender as variantes que os circundam, além de comparar as suas variações entre os anos estudados e estabelecer uma relação com os acontecimentos, em âmbito local, nacional e internacional. Trata-se de um estudo epidemiológico, de caráter quantitativo e retrospectivo, do tipo observacional analítico transversal, realizado com pesquisas no SINAN por via do DATASUS e Boletins Epidemiológicos emitidos pelo Ministério da Saúde. Avaliaram-se os casos notificados e o perfil epidemiológico da dengue em Alagoas, entre o período de 2014-2020. Foram evidenciados 88.927 casos, com maior acometimento do sexo feminino, representando 56,3% (n=50.088). Quanto à distribuição, a maior incidência foi entre adultos (20-39 anos), com 38,2% (n=33.944). Apesar dos altos índices, o número de mortes por essa doença ainda permanece baixo, com uma morte em 2020, semelhante aos anos anteriores. Já no mesmo ano, os índices se mantiveram até a 11ª semana, onde ocorreu declínio no número de casos. Há um comportamento heterogêneo dos casos de dengue, que ocorre de forma sazonal, possivelmente associado à variação dos subtipos. É possível inferir, ainda, que no ano de 2020 acontece subnotificação dos casos, associado a pandemia do COVID-19, além de um maior acometimento do sexo feminino e da população adulta, associado a fatores socioeconômicos e culturais.
