MEMORY WORKSHOP WITH ELDERLY FAMILY HEALTH STRATEGY ABSTRACTWith aging may occur cognitive declines and losses in memory which can result from either or severe impairments. This is a cross-sectional study with elderly participants of the workshop memory group in a Health Family Strategy. Five participants were evaluated, mean age of 70.2 ± 9.4 years old. Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) was used in two moments. The mean post-intervention outcome was higher compared to the first assessment. Although, there was no significant difference, probably for a small sample, the score by individuals ranged from 24 to 30 post-intervention points. For elderly, any improvement in this scale means advances and showing that a Memory Workshop could bring benefits in this area.
CARDIOVASCULAR REHABILITATION PROJECT IN THE SAMBA RHYTHM OF THE PUBLIC UNIVERSITY OF SÃO PAULO STATE ABSTRACTThe objective was to describe the activities developed and characterize the participants of the Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Project in the Samba Rhythm. A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out with 13 women participating in a rehabilitation group through samba. Personal data, medications, risk factors (RF) and heart rate (HR) measurements, blood pressure (BP) and anthropometric measurements were made for characterization. The systolic and diastolic BP were 121.53 ± 20.75 mmHg and 80.76 ± 12.55 mmHg, respectively. The resting HR of 75.61 ± 9.72 bpm, waist circumference of 96.42 ± 9.34 cm, hip circumference of 109.42 ± 8.15 cm and the relation between them of 0.87 ± 0 , 05 cm. Family history (N = 10), sedentary lifestyle (N = 8), obesity (N = 7) and stress (N = 7) were the most prevalent RF. It has concluded that the majority of the project's participants is exclusively female, with an age over 50 years old and BP within normality. Also, the main RF were the family history, sedentary lifestyle, obesity and stress.
