1970. Immunochemical characteristics of rat skeletal muscle myosin. Can. J. Zool. 48: 635-639. The method of preparation of a highly purified antigen from rat skeletal muscle (myosin) and the procedwe Tor preparing specific antiscra have been described. The globulin fraction of the antisera was labeled to demonstrate selective staining of skektal and cardiac muscles. The 10-tion of apple-green fluorescence in muscle cells indicative of antigenic sites of myosln was obtalned w~t h chlck and rat embryo muscIe tissue. Thc data presented indicate that cardiac and skeletal muscle myosin cross-react and that the antigenicity of myosin is not species-speci6c.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
