O projeto Lean nas emergências visa diminuir a superlotação e trazer melhorias na gestão dos hospitais participantes do projeto. Com isso, o presente trabalho objetiva realizar uma análise crítica e comparar os resultados obtidos na implementação do lean em cinco hospitais participantes. Esse estudo permitirá ampliar o conhecimento da filosofia, além de contribuir para um melhor desempenho em futuros ciclos, por meio das fragilidades e entraves identificados. Esta pesquisa caracteriza-se como estudo de caso, qualitativo, descritivo e exploratório através de visita técnica e exploração de campo. A avaliação comparativa permitiu identificar semelhanças nos resultados como, o planejamento e utilização das ferramentas lean; treinamentos padronizados; envolvimento dos gestores/representantes-chaves dos hospitais. Além de diferenças, como a desigualdade em relação às ações e nível de desempenho frente ao projeto; a qualificação e habilitação do diretor médico do hospital C e a limitação de recursos disponíveis no hospital E, em comparação aos demais.
