Firstly, application of Moldflow on the mobile phone cover with two different injection methods which one is to use pin-point gate and the other is to use latent gate to simulate the injection molding process, then we analyze the results from the filling time, air traps, weld lines and the warpage four aspects. Lastly, we find out the effect of latent gate is better than that of pin-point gate by compare the above four results.
Taking the rolling comb as the research object, the process of the injection molding was simulated by Moldflow software. We have optimized both the location of injection gate and the parameters of injection molding process and analyzed possible defects. The experimental verification shows that in the design phase, Moldflow can find the product defects which may occur in the future. And this can help to improve the success rate for the first time. Therefore production costs are reduced and production efficiency can be improved.
Abstract. For simple plastic injection parts of mobile phone shell, in order to reduce the warp of the injection molding and the number of test mold in design process, this paper takes a mobile phone shell for example as the analysis object, using SolidWorks software to address the Three-dimensional modeling of the mobile phone shell and moldflow software to analyze the warp defects of product .By the way of taking the method of Taguchi experiment, optimizing mold structure, filling pressure and sizing pressure curve,the warp of the injection molding could be reduced. So we can get a better combination data of process and reduce the cost of mold-design and manufacturing.
