Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study is to find out the involvement and behavior of students attending school in urban and rural areas in the management of plastic waste. Indicators of student behavior in waste management consist of the types of waste disposed of, students' willingness to dispose of plastic waste according to their grouping, as well as frequent disposal of plastic waste. Methodology: The research instrument used was a questionnaire and interview conducted in one school in urban areas and one school in rural areas. Subjects involved in the study were high school students in urban and rural areas of Solo. Main Findings: The results showed that there were enthusiastic differences between rural and urban students in the management of plastic waste; the common concern of urban students was 85%, while rural students were 73%. The research findings show that students who study in urban areas have higher plastic waste care behavior than students who study in rural areas. Applications of this study: The implications of the results of this study can be useful for further research, namely on the management and use of waste as recycling for both rural and urban students. Novelty/Originality of this study: There is no investigation on waste management, in both rural and urban schools. Considering waste is one of the main problems in the world today, so the results of investigations can be useful in reducing waste through education.
Purpose of the study: The purpose of this research is to find out whether the Adiwitaya school program implemented in Surakarta has been integrated with the objectives of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Methodology: The method used is qualitative research, where researchers want to know the Adiwiyata program and school curriculum. Stages of research carried out through two stages, namely: in the first stage by collecting data in the field through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Main Findings: The results of the research and discussion based on the four aspects reviewed showed that waste management in Adiwiyata schools still needs to be improved. Increased knowledge, attitudes, and skills can be through instilling the values of sustainable development transferred through environmental education. Application of this study: The implementation of research results can be used as input for policyholders within the scope of the minister of education and culture, and the minister of the environment so that the Adiwiyata program can be improved. Novelty/Originality of this study: The renewal of this research is to analyze the objectives of the adiwiyata program as part of realizing sustainable development goals. The Adiwiyata school program implements Environmental Education in the syllabus and lesson plans.
Abstrak-Tujuan penelitian ini adalah : (1) mengetahui persebaran sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Bulu serta, dan (2) mengetahui perbandingan jumlah anak usia sekolah dasar dengan jumlah ruang kelas di Kecamatan Bulu Kabupaten Sukoharjo pada tahun 2015. Dalam usaha mengetahui persebaran dan kecukupan ruang sekolah dan ruang kelas yang ada di Kecamatan Bulu, digunakan metode penelitian pemetaan serta penggunaan rumus APM (Angka Partisipasi Murni) yang telah dimodifikasi berdasarkan Permendiknas No. 15 Tahun 2010. Data lokasi sekolah diperoleh dengan cara Ploting menggunakan GPS, sedangkan jumlah anak usia sekolah dasar diperoleh dengan pengambilan data ke masing-masing kelurahan. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan cara mengolah data hasil ploting dan peletakannya pada peta dasar menggunakan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) sehingga menghasilkan peta persebaran SD di kecamatan Bulu, serta hasil perhitungan perbandingan jumlah anak usia sekolah dasar dengan jumlah ruang kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sekolah dasar di Desa di Kecamatan Bulu berjumlah 24 sekolah, yang paling banyak di Desa Bulu dengan 4 sekolah terdiri dari 3 sekolah negri dan 1 sekolah swasta. Jumlah ruang kelas sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Bulu mengalami kelebihan berdasarkan perhitungan perbandingan anak usia sekolah dasar dengan jumlah ruang kelas yang tersedia
