Saat ini, jumlah pengguna Internet di Indonesia adalah sekitar 200 juta, setara ± 65 % jumlah total penduduk. Jumlah ini mungkin akan terus bertambah dari tahun ke tahun. Konsekuensinya, aktivitas kehidupan sangat bergantung kepada Internet, salah satunya adalah dalam menjalankan proses pendidikan. Mengingat besarnya potensi perkembangan tekonologi Internet of Things (IoT), maka sangat diperlukan pengetahuan tentang teknologi tersebut serta bagaimana pemanfaatannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. SMPN 53 Surabaya memiliki potensi pengembangan dalam memanfaatkan teknologi IoT, namun membutuhkan pelatihan penggunaannya dalam pendidikan. Untuk itu, Laboratorium Komputasi Berbasis Jaringan di Teknik Informatika ITS berinisiatif untuk memberikan pelatihan tentang teknologi IoT kepada guru-guru di SMPN 53 Surabaya. Materi terkait dengan IoT diberikan secara bertahap dari pengenalan sampai dengan bagaimana penggunaan IoT secara praktis dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hasil dari pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa para guru mendapatkan pengetahuan tentang bagaimana menggunakaan IoT dalam pendidikan.

In IoT-based smart healthcare services, the heterogeneity of connected wearable sensing devices open up a wide opportunity to develop various healthcare services. However, it also poses an interoperability challenge since each sensing device and application may have different communication mechanisms. Considering that challenge, web platform can be seen as a promising candidate for providing an interoperability layer as we can abstract various devices as single representation i.e. web resource. In this paper, we propose the design of middleware for enabling efficient web of things access over healthcare wearable devices. The proposed middleware consists of three components: gateway-to-cloud device, messaging service and data access interface. The gateway-to-cloud device has a role to perform low level sensor data collection from various wearable sensing device through bluetooth low energy (BLE) communication protocol. Collected data are then relayed to the cloud IoT platform using a lightweight MQTT messaging protocol. In order to provide device abstraction along with access to the stored data, the system offers two kind of interfaces: the Restful HTTP identified by unique universal resource locator (URL) for batch access and MQTT websocket interface identified by unique topic to accommodate access on sensing data in near real time stream manner.

One of the most important things to use UAV is navigation control. Navigation control is a way to adjust the direction of the quadcopter movements according to the command of the pilot. Natural User Interface (NUI) is a new way to interact with a system as navigation control. In this study, a wearable device was made that can detect hand gestures and gives instructions to the Dji Tello drone. The MPU6050 sensor is used to provide response in two dimensional axes. The complementary filter implements low pass filter on the accelerometer and integrates the value of the gyroscope with the previous angle output. After that, the value will be fed to the high pass filter. The results of the two filters will obtain stable angle, by adjusting the filter coefficient and the sampling time. The aim of complementary filter method is to reduce noise in angular transformation when the pilot makes hand gestures. Based on the experiments, the results show that hand gestures could give command for Dji Tello drone movements successfully. Therefore, it has been proven that the hand gesture can be used for the navigation control system on the Dji Tello drone.
