The types of wood in Banda Aceh used was seumantok, meranti, and sembarang wood. The process of wood leaves sawdust. The sawdust becames rubbish and could pollute the environment. There was five quality of woods, namely quality I - quality V. The purpose of this study is to optimize the sawdust of seumantok (quality I), meranti (quality II), and sembarang wood (quality III) to be processed into wood ash as a substitute for a part of cement in concrete with its percentage were 5% and 10%. The research method was experimentally in a laboratory-based on ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) and ACI (American Concrete Institute). The maximum diameter of the aggregate was 25.4 mm, and the compressive strength of concrete was 14.5 MPa with 21 specimens of cylindrical concrete. Concrete compressive strength results at 28 days with 5% wood ash variation and 10% respectively for quality I were 15.83 MPa and 14.20 MPa, quality II was 13.56 MPa and 12.75 MPa, and quality III were 13.79 MPa and 10.75 MPa. While the normal compressive strength of concrete was 15.86 MPa.
Biogas merupakan sumber renewable energy yang mampu memberikan andil dalam usaha memenuhi kebutuhan bahan bakar. Bahan baku sumber energi biogas merupakan bahan non-fosil, umumnya adalah biomass yang mengandung bahan organik yang tersedia sangat melimpah di Indonesia, diantaranya adalah sumber daya peternakan dan pertanian. Tujuan program pengabdian ini adalah mewujudkan dusun yang mandiri dalam mencukupi kebutuhan pangan dan energinya, terutama kebutuhan bahan bakar untuk kebutuhan memasak dengan memanfaatkan kotoran sapi untuk diolah menjadi biogas. Limbah yang dihasilkan dari biogas ini akan dimanfaatkan untuk dijadikan pupuk organik yang akan bermanfaat untuk pertanian, sehingga terjadi sinergi yang berkelanjutan antara dusun dengan bidang usaha yang ditekuninya yaitu peternakan sapi dan pertanian. Berdasarkan road-map peningkatan hasil ternak sapi dan pemanfaatan kotoran sapi, terdapat dua klaster strategi untuk mewujudkan dusun mandiri energi dan pangan. Klaster pertama adalah strategi peningkatan hasil ternak sapi melalui pemberian ransum yang seimbang sebagai suplementasi nutrisi dan strategi kedua adalah pemanfaatan kotoran sapi sebagai biogas dan pupuk organik baik padat maupun cair, sedangkan klaster kedua adalah pemanfaatan kotoran sapi. Dari road-map tersebut dibuat rangkaian kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilaksanakan meliputi: penyuluhan dan pelatihan ransum seimbang untuk ternak sapi, penyuluhan dan pelatihan pembuatan instalasi biogas kotoran sapi, pembenahan kandang sapi yang akan dipasang instalasi biogas dan pembuatan instalasi biogas kotoran sapi. Dari keseluruhan rangkaian kegiatan pengabdian, sambutan masyarakat sangat baik dan antusias untuk membantu terlaksananya kegiatan pengabdian. Hal ini terbukti dengan tingkat partisipasi masyarakat yang tinggi serta kesediaan warga untuk mendukung terlaksananya kegiatan ini.
This study aims to determine the effect of precast concrete joints on the resulting ductility. The research method was experimentally in a laboratory-based on ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) and ACI (American Concrete Institute). The design of concrete compressive strength was 14.50 MPa. The specimen used in this research consist of four beams, which are TRC (Top Reinforcement Concrete), THB (Top Hollow Block), BRC (Bottom Reinforcement Concrete), and BHB (Bottom Hollow Block). The size of beam used was 15 × 20 × 210 cm with the diameter of reinforcement bar were 12 mm (threaded steel) and 10 mm meanwhile the diameter of plain steel was 6 mm. The result showed that the ductility of TRC beam was 2.024, the ductility of THB beam was 2.526, the ductility of BRC beam was 1.237, and the ductility of BHB beam was 1.611. The ductility for hollow block is greater than normal reinforced concrete beam. Meanwhile, the load that occurs for hollow blocks is smaller.
