A cellular effect of the soft laser application is clearly discernible. Clinical studies are needed to evaluate whether the application of low-level laser therapy might be beneficial in regenerative periodontal therapy.
Within the limits of the present study it can be concluded that: (i) at 1 year after surgery, both therapies resulted in significant PD reductions and CAL gains, and (ii) the combination of EMD+BG does not seem to additionally improve the clinical results.
These results indicate that the efficacy of chemomechanical removal of carious dentine in children by means of Carisolv' is comparable to the results obtained by conventional methods, and thus might serve as a suitable alternative.
