Bu çalışmanın amacı; eğitim fakültelerinde görev yapmakta olan öğretim elemanlarının, üniversitelerde araştırma takımlarının bir üyesi olan araştırma görevlilerine ilişkin algılarını metaforlar aracılığıyla ortaya koymaktır. Nitel olarak tasarlanan bu çalışmada, bireyin bir fenomenle ilgili bilinçli bir deneyimini betimlemesine dayanan ve araştırmacının her katılımcının kendi öznel deneyimleriyle oluşturduğu yaşam dünyasına erişmeye çalıştığı fenomenolojik model kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizi sonucunda, araştırma görevlisi kavramına ilişkin öğretim elemanları tarafından üretilen metaforlar dokuz kavramsal kategoride toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, eğitim fakültesinde çalışan öğretim elemanlarının araştırma görevlisi kavramına hem olumlu hem de olumsuz anlamlar yüklediği ortaya çıkmıştır. Araştırma görevlileri akademik anlamda olgunlaşma gösteren, hocaları tarafından eğitilen, çalıştıkları kurumda akademik işlerin yanında evrak işleri, programların yapılması, notların duyurulması gibi verilen her işe zaman ayırmak zorunda kalan, bu nedenle kendi çalışmalarına gerekli ilgiyi gösteremeyen, akademik gelişmelerinde zorluklarla mücadele eden kişiler olarak algılanmaktadırlar. GirişÜniversiteler akademik araştırmalar yoluyla bilgi üreten ve ürettiği bilgiyi ürüne dönüştürmeye çalışan, bunun yanı sıra ülkenin ihtiyaç duyulan alanlarında insan kaynağını da yetiştiren kurumlardır. Gerek bilgi üretimi, gerekse ülkenin ihtiyaç duyduğu insan kaynağının yetiştirilmesinde üniversitelerdeki akademik personelin payı oldukça büyüktür. Türkiye'de üniversitelerde görev yapan 130.653 akademik personelin 40.939'unu (%31) oluşturan araştırma görevlileri öğretim elemanları içerisinde en büyük grubu oluşturmaktadır (ÖSYM, 2013). Grubun büyüklüğüyle birlikte mevzuatta yer alan bazı sorunlar ve uygulamada yaşanan aksaklıklar, üniversitelerin gelecekteki insan kaynağının temelini teşkil eden araştırma görevlileri ile ilgili birtakım problemlerin (iş tanımı belirsizliği, farklı kadro yapıları, senetler vb.) ortaya çıkmasına neden olmaktadır.
School violence is one of the most important problems threatening physical and mental health of people in Turkey as well .The main purpose of this study is to analyze school violence as reflected in the print media between the years of 2005 and 2010. It aims to explore the dynamics of and reasons behind school violence. Besides, the context for school violence is also examined. In this study, national newspapers, namely Hürriyet, Cumhuriyet, Zaman and Sabah published between the years of 2005 and 2010 were scanned to detect news on school violence and detected news was content analyzed. Findings revealed that violence occurred mostly in primary schools between teachers and students. Also, news on school violence was mostly published in Hürriyet, but at least in Cumhuriyet.Keywords: school violence, case study, teacher, student Extended AbstractPurpose and Significance: School violence is one of the most important problems threatening physical and mental health of people in Turkey as well. It is terribly increasing at a high speed. It is necessary to take this growing violence under control at proper time. Otherwise, it will go out of hands. Violence refers to immediate or chronic situations that result in injury to the psychological, social or physical well-being of individuals or groups. The level of children's exposure to community violence or media violence may vary. However, the psychological and behavioral risks that are associated with children's exposure to these types of violence are remarkably similar. The main purpose of this study is to analyze school violence as reflected in the print media between the years of 2005 and 2010. It aims to explore the dynamics of and reasons behind school violence. The business-life related competition established in modern communities has also brought about some other problems. The attacks and intimidation attempts have introduced the term of "mobbing" which is defined as regular and continuous psychological violence faced by people always trying to produce and win from those who they work with.The term of "mobbing" has recently become a popular academic issue which has been sophisticatedly handled in relevant literature. Mobbing is defined as the act of continuous and systematic intimidation purposefully performed by either some employees or employers on some employees through emotional violence. As mobbing is considered to be significant for both corporate and employee, the starting point of this study was to investigate how mobbing acts are reflected on newspapers as they are mass communication means. One of the most important means of media is print media. Print media is the first means of media when mentioned about media. Newspapers are means through which people are always kept up to date about the latest news in civilized societies. With this regard, the most basic purpose of this study is to investigate the news about the mobbing events experienced in higher education system under the light of national policy documents and reports. The study was carried out based on a qualitative approach. The news released in print media was chosen purposefully as print media means report news in a detailed way, have an evidential value and can be read again on demand. The research group in this study consists of the mobbing news released on Hurriyet, Sabah and Zaman which are newspapers published in Turkey between the years of 2009-2013. These newspapers were purposefully chosen based on criterion sampling method. The most basic understanding underlying this sampling method is to study on all cases which meet the standards set prior to the start of the study.
