Objetivo: A COVID-19 foi declarada pela Organização Mundial da Saúde como emergência de saúde pública em janeiro de 2020. Pelo fato de ser transmitida por meio de gotículas respiratórias da boca e do nariz, foram impostas estratégias de isolamento social. O impacto desse isolamento, juntamente com as preocupações sobre os riscos da infecção e suas consequências econômicas, apresentam um efeito nocivo sobre a saúde mental de grande parte da população, incluindo as mulheres grávidas, as quais já passam por um momento de instabilidade emocional e fisiológica, necessitando de maior atenção. Fonte dos dados: Realizou-se uma pesquisa nas bases de dados PubMed e Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde, em Maio de 2021, utilizando os descritores "pregnancy", “pandemic”, “anxiety”. Os critérios de inclusão foram artigos de língua inglesa desde o início de 2020 e os de exclusão foram aqueles cujos título e resumo não se aplicavam à proposta deste estudo. Síntese dos dados: A análise dos estudos demonstra uma alta relação da COVID-19 com a ansiedade nas gestantes, bem como os fatores que desencadeiam os altos escores desse sentimento nessa população, entre eles o isolamento social, mudanças do pré-natal, medo da pandemia e de anomalias fetais. Conclusão: A ansiedade diante da COVID-19 é relevante para as gestantes, sendo necessária maior assistência à saúde da mulher nesse momento. Ainda, é importante a realização de novos estudos, promovendo intervenção antecipada nessa população, para que o cuidado da gestante e do feto apresente um ganho quantitativo e qualitativo, otimizando esse cenário da saúde pública.
