In this study, we examined how situational interest, self-efficacy, and performance predict each other during task engagement, and how they, in turn, contribute to continued interest. Finnish fourth-graders (N = 263) did a computerized inductive reasoning task consisting of two sections. Before and after each section, the students reported their situational interest and self-efficacy, and at the end of the task, students stated whether they would like to do similar tasks again (i.e., continued interest). Students' domain-specific interest and self-concept in mathematics, and gender differences were controlled. A cross-lagged reciprocal effects model with repeated measures, control variables, and outcomes within the structural equation modeling framework was estimated. The results showed situational interest to have a stronger effect on self-efficacy than vice versa, and that they both partly contributed to task performance. Continued interest was influenced only by situational interest at the end of the task. The patterning of predictions across the different stages of the task suggests these effects to be somewhat sensitive to task characteristics.

Induktív és kombinatív gondolkodásfejlettségének online vizsgálata egyetemi tanulmányaikat kezdő hallgatók körében A kutatás célja a Szegedi Tudományegyetemen tanulmányaikat kezdő hallgatók induktív és kombinatív gondolkodásának online vizsgálata. Az adatfelvételben 1682 fő vett részt. Az induktív gondolkodás tesztben figurális sorozatok és analógiák, valamint számsorozatok és számanalógiák szerepeltek. A kombinatív gondolkodást mérő feladatotokban képekből, valamint betűkből és számokból kellett különböző összeállításokat megadni. Az adatfelvétel az eDia rendszer alkalmazásával valósult meg az egyetem könyvtárának számítógépparkjában, a kitöltést mérési koordinátorok felügyelték. Bár a teszteken nyújtott átlagos teljesítmények nem voltak alacsonyak, a szórások és az eloszlások vizsgálata, valamint az itemanalízis eredményei alapján feltételezhető, hogy a teszteket kitöltő hallgatók negyede tanulási nehézségekkel nézhet szembe az egyetemi évei alatt. Bevezetés A tudásalapú társadalmak új igényeket fogalmaznak meg az oktatási rendszerekkel szemben, többek között azt az elvárást, hogy a népesség minél nagyobb aránya szerezzen felsőfokú képesítést (Európai Bizottság, 2010). Ennek megfelelően az utóbbi évtizedekben egyre többen vesznek részt felsőfokú képzésben, az expanzió azonban számos új kihívás elé állítja a felsőoktatási rendszereket (Csapó és Molnár, 2017a; Derényi és Temesi, 2016; Zlatkin-Troitschanskaia, Shavelson és Kuhn, 2015). Az egyik ilyen kihívás, hogy a társadalom egyre szélesebb rétegéinek felsőoktatásba lépésével a hallgatók tudásának és képességeinek szintje, valamint motivációjának mértéke is egyre szélesebb spektrumon szóródhat. Ez a jelenség kihat a hallgatók képezhetőségére, megfelelő intervenció híján a gyengébb képességű hallgatók diplomaszerzése elhúzódhat vagy lemorzsolódhatnak. Az eltömegesedett felsőoktatásban a jobb képességű hallgatók azonosítása is nehezebbé válik. A hatások összegződésével jelentősen romolhat a felsőfokú képzések eredményessége. Az új kihívásokra való hatékony reagálás minden szinten összetett feladat, legyen szó politikai, szakpolitikai, intézményi, kari, kurzus vagy az egyéni szintről, ugyanakkor a tervezéshez és a beavatkozások megvalósításhoz is nagymértékben hozzájárulhat, ha képet kapunk a tanulmányaikat megkezdő

The aims of the study were (1) to develop a domain-general computer-based assessment tool for inductive reasoning and to empirically test the theoretical models of Klauer and Christou and Papageorgiou; and (2) to develop an online game to foster inductive reasoning through mathematical content and to investigate its effectiveness. The sample was drawn from fifth-grade students for the assessment (N = 267) along with the intervention study (N = 122). The online figurative test consisted of 54 items: nine items were developed for each of the six inductive reasoning processes. The digital game-based training program included 120 learning tasks embedded in mathematical content with differential feedback and instructional support. The test had good psychometric properties regarding reliabilities, means, and standard deviations. Confirmatory factor analyses revealed that the six processes of inductive reasoning and the three latent factors of Similarity, Dissimilarity, and Integration could be empirically confirmed. The training program was effective in general (corrected effect size = .38); however, the process of cross-classification was not developed significantly. Findings could contribute to a more detailed understanding of the structure and the modifiability of inductive reasoning processes and could reveal further insights into the nature of fluid intelligence.
