In this research, measurement of flow structure and observation of swimming behavior of Leuciscus hakonensis at the hydraulic model of the pool and weir type fishway with slope 1/5 were conducted. Main results are shown as follows; 1) Ascending rate of this species in TYPE C which has short pools in flowing direction is higher than in TYPE B which has big steps between each pools when the overflow depth equals 5~10 cm, ascending rate of this species over 9~10 cm in TYPE B is higher than in TYPE C when the overflow depth equals 15~20 cm. 2) The difference of flow structure doesn't necessarily greatly influence ascending rate of this species. 3) About this species, it is necessary to select TYPE B or C corresponding to the assumed range of the overflow depth.

In this reserch, the method not only to decrease TN load but also to preserve the effect of dilution by water conveyance was considered by simulation using distributed water quality tank model. As a results, it was clarified that the following methods are suitable; 1)Water conveyance would not be executed until the storing rate of the reservoir decreases an appropriate value.2)The runoff water from the watershed would be stored. 3)Reuse irrigation would be executed. 4)The water which equals the volume saved by reuse irrigation is conveyed and released during non-irrigation period.
Atsushi NAMIHIRA, Masahiro GOTO and Kyoji TAKAKI 1 正会員 博士(農) 農研機構農村工学研究所資源循環工学研究領域(〒305-8609 つくば市観音台2-1-6)The applicability of MPS method as an assessment tool for flow regimes in installing a current water wheel in an open channel as one of the development of micro-scale hydropower generation in irrigation systems, was examined. As a result, the simulated flow regimes agreed qualitatively with the experimental results at given rotational speeds of the water wheel. However, the simulated energy difference between upstream and downstream of the water wheel was about 20% larger than the experimental results at given rotational speeds in the case the length of water turbine runner was 0.1m. The main reasons were considered to be numerical pressure fluctuation known as a problem of original MPS method, and lack of phenomenal representation based on employing the 2D single-phase model.
