Lansia merupakan kondisi yang rentan terhadap stress yang diakibatkan dengan menurunnya kapasitas tubuh dan timbulnya berbagai penyakit degenerative antara lain seperti gangguan kualitas tidur, diabetes mellitus, hipertensi. Penurunan kualitas tidur sedikitnya disebabkan antara lain oleh disfungsi aktivitas pada siang hari, penurunan fungsi neurotransmitter sehingga neroepinephrine mengalami penurunan, sehingga menyebabkan mudahnya terbangun pada malam hari dan pola tidur dan istirahat berubah serta dapat mengganggu kualitas tidur lansia . Begitu juga pada gangguan kardiovaskular pada lansia, salah satunya hipertensi, gangguan ini disebabkan oleh pengkakuan pembuluh darah dan penurunan kelenturan (compliance) arteri dan ini mengakibatkan peningkatan tekanan nadi sesuai dengan umur. Perubahan ini menyebabkan penurunan compliance aorta dan pembuluh darah besar dan mengakibatkan peningkatan TDS yang menyebabkan hipertensi. Selain itu gangguan metabolic juga menjadi resiko besar yang sering terjadi pada lansia, khusunya tingginya kasus diabetes mellitus, yang merupakan akibat dari resistensi insulin cenderung meningkat pada usia lanjut sehingga dapat mempengaruhi peningkatan kadar glukosa darah. Semua keluhan degenatif yang disebutkan diatas berdampak pada penurunan kualitas hidup lansia. Obat obatan menjadi kebutuhan yang sangat tinggi untuk menanggulangi keluhan pada kondisi yang menua, padahal kondisi tubuh mereka sudah tidak terlalu baik untuk mensekresi obat, yang paling buruk efek konsumsi obat akan menimbulkan kelainan lain seperti gagal ginjal. Oleh karena itu pola fikir dan pola aktivitas lansia harus segera diperbaiki. Meningkatkan pola aktivitas sangat membantu untuk menurunkan keluahan keluhan tersebut. Pada penelitian ini digunkan senam tai chi sebagai peningkatan pola aktivitas pada lansia. Taichi sendiri dipilih karena gerakan yang aman digunakan para lanjut usia, selain itu efek terapi dari tai chi sendiri yaitu dapat menurunkan tekanan darah, menekan pengeluaran hormone hormone yang dapat meningkatkan kadar gula darah, dan menurunkan kadar kortisol dan menurunkan aktivits saraf simpatis sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas tidur pada lansia.
Nyeri punggung bawah (low back pain) terjadi akibat adanya perubahan fisik dan hormonal seiring bertambahnya usia kehamilan dimana uterus semakin membesar dan terjadi penurunan elastisitas dan fleksibilitas pada otot punggung yang berakibat terjadinya lordosis. Dengan demikian wanita hamil akan mengalami perubahan saat berjalan karena perubahan gravitasi tubuh ke arah depan yang kemudian mengakibatkan ketegangan otot dan menimbulkan rasa nyeri di daerah punggung bagian bawah. Salah satu intervensi yang dapat digunakan untuk mengurangi nyeri punggung bawah pada wanita hamil yaitu prenatal yoga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh prenatal yoga terhadap nyeri punggung bawah pada wanita hamil. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi-eksperimental dengan rancangan one group pretest posttest design dengan menggunakan alat ukur Numeric rating scale (NRS). Masing-masing sampel diukur nyeri punggung bawahnya sebelum dan sesudah diberikan intervensi prenatal yoga. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistic dengan Wilcoxon didapatkan nilai signifikansi 0.000(p>0,005) Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh prenatal yoga terhadap nyeri punggung bawah pada wanita hamil
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused a decline in activity both at the office and in schools. To stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the government decided that the learning process in elementary schools would be carried out using online systems. This has led to a decrease in psychomotor activity that is usually maintained through playing and routine sports activities at school. Physical activity increases motor physical development which later affects children’s skills in moving. Fitness is the body’s ability to carry out physical activities without causing excessive fatigue. Balance is the body’s ability to maintain a position in carrying out daily activities. These two components are very important in the development period of elementary school children to support other developments and avoid injury. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of change in physical activity in elementary school children during this pandemic and to examine how this has affected the fitness and balance of the children. The researchers used a cross-sectional design with an analytical survey which investigated the correlation between risk factors and the effects of the two variables. Myofascial neck pain is a musculoskeletal complaint that occurs due to hypersensitivity in one or more muscles. Static stretching is one of the techniques that can reduce the risk of injury. Static stretching can lengthen muscles and tendons in a fixed position, thereby increasing flexibility and relaxation, reducing spasms and decreasing pain. Effleurage massage is a massage technique with strokes to smooth and increase blood flow which can also reduce pain and spasms. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of two interventions for myofascial neck pain. The research design was pre-experimental with two groups of pretest-postest design. A total of 30 female cigarette-rolling workers were sampled in this study, and they met the research criteria. Respondents received static stretching exercises with effleurage massage 3 times a week for 4 weeks. The visual Analogue Scale was used to measure the pain felt by the respondent. The results showed that both interventions in each group had an effect on reducing myofascial neck pain in cigarette rolling workers (p<0.05). The results of the comparison test of the effect of giving Static Stretching with Effleurage Massage showed a p-value of 0.00 (p <0.05), which means that H1 is accepted or there is a difference in the effect of Static Stretching and effleurage massage on reducing myofascial neck pain in cigarette rolling workers. Based on the average decrease, the group with Static Stretching had a greater effect of reduced myofascial neck pain. Lifting and transporting activities are the most common tasks in the logistics sector, especially for loading-unloading workers. The workers continuously lift heavy loads, which leads to pain in the waist, back, arms, and legs. Neuropathic pain is a type of pain caused by peripheral nerve lesions. The aim of this study was to find the relationship between the different levels of work experience and the risk of neuropathic pain among loading-unloading workers. We used descriptive analytics as the method of the study. 65 healthy men aged 20-55 years, without health issues or diabetes mellitus, and active loading-unloading workers were recruited as study respondents. They were divided into three groups based on their different levels of work experience. We utilized the Leeds assessment of neuropathic symptoms and signs (LANSS) questionnaire to check whether the participant was at risk for neuropathic pain. Our results showed that 43% of participants identified as having less, 28% as middle, and 29% as having more work experience. Furthermore, work experience is significantly correlated to the risk of neuropathic pain (P<0.000). We concluded that the more experienced loading workers are, the more likely they are to experience neuropathic pain. Keywords: work experience, peripheral-neuropathy, pain, loading workers
