A line graph has many useful applications in physical chemistry. Topological indices are numerical parameters associated to a structure and, in combination, determine properties of the concerned material. In this paper, we compute the closed form of Zagreb polynomilas of all generalized class of carbon nanocones and compute important degree-based topological indices.
Purpose: This study analyzes how employee retention is influenced by factors like safety health environment, job satisfaction and motivation. Methodology/Sampling: This research is quantitative in nature, where 250 survey questionnaires have been distributed within the employees of pharmaceutical industry in Pakistan. SPSS and AMOS have been utilized to analyze the direct and mediating effect of variables. Findings: This study confirms that employee retention is a significant outcome of safety health environment. Moreover, the levels of job satisfaction and employee motivation equally mediate the relationship between safety health environment and employee retention. Practical implications: The findings of this paper suggest that the pharmaceutical firms in Pakistan and specifically in Lahore should foster the health protection policies, and in turn it would help enhance the satisfaction and motivation of staff, resulting in the retention of capable employees.
This study examined the influence of service quality on customer loyalty, and aimed to determine if this relationship was mediated by customer satisfaction. Data were gathered from customers of eight banks in Pakistan through an adapted self-administered questionnaire. Respondents were selected using convenience sampling. The distributed questionnaire was based on a modified SERVQUAL model.479 complete survey responses were returned out of a total of 700 distributed. The completed questionnaires were examined through descriptive statistics, regression analysis, and PROCESS technique (Hayes2013). Results revealed a significant effect of service quality on customer loyalty. Customer satisfaction was found to have a significant mediating effect on the relationship between service quality and customer loyalty. The outcomes of our study could be useful for policy-making in bank management, and future banking expansion. There is additional generalized benefit to having insight into customers’ thinking regarding the banking sector.
Background: Stressful situation are among the challenging experiences especially in clinical setting. The aim of this study was to compare the level of work-related stress among nurses working in Intensive Care Units (ICUs), General ward and Emergency setting. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted at different private tertiary hospitals of Karachi in 2017-2018. Two stage sampling technique including quota and convenient sampling technique was used to collect the data. A total of 225 participants were recruited. Pre-validated questionnaire was used which contained different stress related categories. Midwives, nursing assistants, part time nurses and nurses employed at management positions were excluded from the study. Data were presented as frequency and percentage and mean and standard deviation. The chi-square test was used for examine association of categorical variables. The SPSS used for data analysis. Results: The mean age of participants was 26.5±2.4 years. Stress among nurses working in emergency department was found to be highest in all categories. Management related stress was 77.3% and 69.3% due to criticism by supervisor and inadequate support by supervisor, respectively. Patient related stress was 72% and 64% due to health risk posed by patient contact and communication about death to patient. About 81.3% of the nurses of emergency department reported high level of stress due to covering work for another employee followed by 66.7% related to working overtime. Moreover, 86.7% and 62.7% of participants had high level of stress due to inadequate salary and lack of recognition.
Conclusion:The study concludes that the level of stress varies within different departments in the hospitals. There are several work-related stressors that found more in Emergency department than ICU or General ward.
Objectives:
To investigate the relationship between a prostasin gene variations and the development of preeclampsia in a Pakistani female population.
Methods:
This was a case-control study carried out at University of Karachi, Karachi, Pakistan between May 2018 and 2019. A single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) at rs12597511 locus was examined with polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analyses in 76 preeclamptic and 74 normotensive expecting mothers.
Results:
We observed significantly increased risk of preeclampsia associated with the CC genotype of rs12597511 polymorphism as compared to TT (
p
<0.001, OR=8.08, 95% CI:1.28-31.19) and TT/TC (
p
<0.001, OR=14.66 and 95% CI: 3.31-65.07) genotypes carriers. Calculation of the allelic distribution revealed a higher frequency of the T allele (82%) among controls; however, the C allele was more prevalent in the preeclamptic group (36%) significantly.
Conclusion:
The significantly higher C allele frequency in the prostasin gene at the rs12597511 locus in the preeclamptic group indicates that the distribution of the C allele of the prostasin gene is a potential risk factor contributing to the development of preeclampsia.
