The interaction mean free paths of He fragments emitted from two heavy-ion beams of 40 Ar and 56 Fe at an energy of 2 GeV/u have been measured with high statistics and were found to be approximately the same at all distances from their production points. Li and Be fragments, produced from known primary beams, also do not show any significant anomalous effect, within the statistics, in their mean-free-path values at any distance from their production point.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
