In this paper, we present the intermittency and the erraticity analyses of the distributions of charged particles produced in 28 Si-Ag/Br interaction at incident energy 14.5 A GeV. The experimental results are compared with a Monte Carlo simulation using ultra-relativistic quantum molecular dynamics (UrQMD) model. The experimental data show the presence of a nonstatistical component in the produced charged-particle density. Neither the UrQMD simulation nor the purely statistical simulation was found to match the experimental data. The present set of results are compared to those obtained in similar measurements from earlier high-energy nucleus-nucleus experiments. PACS Nos: 25.75.-q, 25.70.Mn, 24.60.KyRésumé : Nous soulignons ici le caractère intermittent et erratique dans l'analyse de la distribution des particules chargées dans les interactions 28 Si-Ag/Br à l'énergie incidente de 14,5 A GeV. Nous comparons les résultats expérimentaux avec une simulation Monte Carlo utilisant le modèle ultra-relativiste de dynamique moléculaire quantique (UrQMD). Les données expérimentales indiquent la présence d'une composante non statistique dans la densité de particules chargées produites. Ni la simulation UrQMD ni la simulation purement statistique n'arrivent à reproduire les données expérimentales. Abstract.We report the results on the electromagnetic dissociation of 14.5A GeV 28Si and 200A GeV 160 projectiles in nuclear emulsion. The overall charge changing production cross sections are determined experimentally and are found to agree reasonably well with those computed theoretically. The relative rate as a function of decay energy for various reaction channels are parameterized in terms of an exponential function. Majority of the events in the most prominent decay modes can be attributed to the excitation of giant dipole resonances. Multiplicity distributions of e particles emerged from nuclear as well as electromagnetic interactions are also investigated.

We report the results on partial production cross sections for Z = 2 projectile fragments emitted in 28 Si-emulsion interactions at 3.7 A GeV. Scaling behaviour of the multiplicity distribution of Z = 2 PFs has been checked. The emission angle of Z = 2 PFs has been measured and pseudorapidity distributions for these PFs have been obtained. We observe that the value of momentum spread a(p) for Z = 2 PFs grows with increasing mass number of the projectile. The emission of Z = 2 PFs is consistent with a single source with an excitation energy of about 8.9 MeV. The data has been compared with available data reported for lighter as well as heavier projectiles at the same and/or different energies.
