enam siswa dari kelas X-4. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif. Pertama, siswa diberi tes yang harus memilih salah satu topik, siswa menulis teks recount berdasarkan topik yang dipilih dan penulis mengumpulkan kertas mereka kemudian menganalisanya. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah menemukan kesalahan dalam kata benda, kata benda, past tense, kata kerja, verba aksi, konjungsi, dan waktu konektif kemudian kata keterangan. Tapi, kesalahan paling umum yang ditemukan adalah menggunakan bentuk lampau, menggunakan kata ganti dan menggunakan kata sifat (kata sifat). Penyebab kesalahan siswa dalam menggunakan fitur lexicogrammatical dalam menulis teks recount adalah kecerobohan (kurangnya motivasi), gangguan bahasa pertama dan terjemahan (kata demi kata) dan upaya guru bahasa Inggris untuk mengatasi kesulitan dalam menggunakan fitur lexicogrammatical dalam menulis teks recount adalah dengan melakukan pengulangan dalam mengajar teks recount terutama fitur lexicogrammatical, menggunakan metode demonstrasi, menggunakan media, dan yang terakhir selalu memberikan tugas dan pekerjaan rumah pada setiap akhir pertemuan.
This study aims to know the student’s ability in writing narrative text in terms of content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanics mastery at the eightth grade of SMP Negeri 2 Tambangan and to know why the students’ ability in writing narrative text in terms of content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanics mastery are low at the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 2 Tambangan. The research was conducted by using mix method(quantitative and qualitative research) with 9 students as the informants. The documentation and interview were used in collecting the data. Based on data analysis, it could be found (a)the result of the from their ability in writing narrative text in terms of content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanics still below the criteria minimum (KKM). The average all of the participants just on average 65 while the KKM value demanded that they must except to get the score on the average of criteria minimum at 75. and b) The result of the data finding showed that most of the students are unable in writing narrative text includes in content, organization, vocabulary, language use, and mechanics. It is proved from their score n writing narrative text are still below the KKM. and c)Based on the writer’s interview to the 9 informants, most of students think writing is difficult skill for them because they have limited understanding in vocabulary, grammar and tenses mastery.
The purposes of the research are to find out: whether there is a significant comparison between study TPS and TGT in teaching writing recount text at the X Grade Students of SMA Swasta Kampus Padangsidimpuan. In order to achieve the purposes of this research, the researcher carried out the quantitative approach by applying experimental method. The samples are 80 students. Data is measured by using t-test formulation to find the comparison of both methods in teaching writing recount text. Based on the data that have been analyzed, it is found that value is 4.12 meanwhile value is 1.99 at 5% significant level. So, the is bigger than or 4.12 > 1.99. It means there is a significant comparison between study TPS and TGT in teaching writing recount text at the X Grade Students of SMA Swasta Kampus Padangsidimpuan, in other words the hypothesis is accepted. The purpose of this research was to found out: 1) The application of Climbing Grammar Mountain Game on Students ' Lexicogrammatical Features of Personal Recount Text Mastery,2) The Students' Lexicogrammatical Features of Personal Recount Text Mastery before and after using Climbing Grammar Mountain Game, 3) Whether there is any significant effect of Climbing Grammar Mountain Game on Lexicogrammatical Features of Personal Recount Text Mastery at the Eighth Grade Students of MTs YPKS Padangsidimpuan.This research used experimental method with the pre-experimental designusing one-group pretest posttest design. The population of this research was the VIII grade students consist of 156 students and the samples were 25 students gotten by using purposive sampling. The writer used observation sheet and test as an instrument. The result of this research: 1) The application of climbing grammar mountain game was 3.7, it was categorized "Good", 2) the mean score pretest of students' lexicogrammatical features of personal recount text was 53,2 it was categorized "Bad". Meanwhile after using climbing grammar mountain game was 73,4 it was categorized "Good". 3) The result of data analysis showed that ttest= 10.6, while the table df score of ttable 5% significant level was 2.06. It means that ttest was higher than ttable(10.6> 2.06). So, the hypothesis is accepted. It means that, there is significant effect of using climbing grammar mountain game on students' lexicogrammatical features of personal recount text mastery at the eighth grade students of MTs YPKS Padangsidimpuan 2021/2022 Academic year.
