This study aims to examine the characteristics and quality of chemical enrichment books based on ethnosciences as a source of science literacy learners. The research method used is Research and Development. Data collection using questionnaire method. Data analysis is done quantitatively and qualitatively. The result of research is in the form of chemical enrichment book based on ethnoscience with characteristics: (1) A5 print media, (2) raised 4 Javanese cultural themes especially Yogyakarta area consisting of Batik, Wayang Kulit, Merapi, and Dagger themes, (3) the theme in general, the transformation of science from indigenous science to scientific science, and the renewal steps that can be made based on the existing environmental or social facts in the theme, (4) developed by containing affective, cognitive, andpsychomotor domains. Assessment is performed using an assessment instrument that refers to the instrument B1 of the Center for Curriculum and Bookkeeping. Assessment by material experts, media experts, cultural experts, chemistry teachers, and students' responses were 83.33%, 90.9%, 60%, 84.30%, and 90%, respectively, with Good category (B), Very Good (SB), Enough (C), Very Good (SB), and Good (B), thus this chemical enrichment book deserves to be a source of science literacy by students

ABSTRACT:The aim of this research in to know microscopic representation change in atom and molecule concept which is influenced by STEM Education. This research is one of the sequences in Research and Development of test instrument by chemistry software. The kind of this research is fieldwork research with one group pre-test and post-test design. Subjects in this research are the twenty-seven students in MBS Senior High School grade 11 th in Yogyakarta region. STEM Education can improve student microscopic representation skill from 30.18 to 54.62 in average score and based on student result in painting molecule with ChemDraw and Avogadro's application, there are a lot of improvement in understanding concept.
We investigate how chemistry-teacher students and teachers interpret chemical equations regarding the sub-microscopic level of solid ionic salts and their solutions. Addressing participants’ skills in making sense of chemical formulas might significantly influence students’ conceptual understanding: ionic salts formulas like Na2CO3(s), CaCO3(s), MgO(s) were established in the questionnaire. A coding system used to reveal participants’ reasoning correspond to their misconceptions. The enrolled participants were 101 undergraduate chemistry education students from Indonesia and Ethiopia and 24 chemistry teachers from Indonesia and Tanzania. Our results showed students’ and teachers’ difficulties in figuring out the involved ions of provided salts and interpreting the chemical formulas. Consequently, general chemistry learning should provide better fundamental knowledge on the submicroscopic level based on involved particles like atoms, ions, and molecules. It would also be helpful to introduce an appropriate sequence of historical ideas to find the existence of atoms, ions, and molecules.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis proses pembelajaran prakarya dan kewirausahaan berbasis ilmu kimia yang meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan penilaian, serta mengetahui efek pengiring pembelajaran terhadap empat aspek kecakapan hidup peserta didik kelas XI MIA di SMA N 1 Tayu, Pati, Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu guru yang mengampu mata pelajaran prakarya dan kewirausahaan serta peserta didik kelas XI MIA 1, XI MIA 2 dan XI MIA 4 di SMA N 1 Tayu. Objek penelitian yaitu proses pembelajaran prakarya dan kewirausahaan yang meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan penilaian, serta empat aspek kecakapan hidup peserta didik sebagai efek pengiring pembelajaran prakarya dan kewirausahaan. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu wawancara, observasi partisipatif, serta skala. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) kegiatan perencanaan, terkait dokumen perencanaan dan ketersediaan ruangan dan media dapat menunjang berjalannya proses belajar, akan tetapi sumber belajar belum secara penuh mendukung proses produksi karena informasi tentang beberapa kegiatan pengolahan yang dilakukan tidak terdapat dalam sumber belajar guru maupun peserta didik, (2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran prakarya dan kewirausahaan dengan pendekatan saintifik memungkinkan peserta didik untuk berpartisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dan mengembangkan kemampuan berwirausaha (3) penilaian yang dilakukan secara terbuka dapat menjadi faktor yang mempengaruhi aktivitas peserta didik saat pembelajaran, sehingga peserta didik terlihat antusias dalam menunjukkan peran serta mereka saat kegiatan diskusi, (4) empat aspek kecakapan hidup peserta didik termasuk kategori sangat baik, yaitu 93,9% untuk kecakapan personal, 86,5% untuk kecakapan sosial, 86,5% unrtuk kecakapan akademik, dan 93,1% untuk kecakapan vokasional.
