Purpose: This study aims to investigate the effect of sharia governance to corporate social responsibility disclosure in Indonesia Islamic banks. Design/methodology/approach: The data in this study are taken from the annual reports of ten Islamic banks in Indonesia in the period 2011-2018. The data analysis method used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis. Findings: This study finds that the effectiveness of the board of directors plays a vital role in enforcing corporate social responsibility disclosure. Whereas, the audit committee and sharia supervisory board are found to have no significant effect on corporate social responsibility disclosure in Islamic banks. Research implications: Results of this study reveal that sharia supervisory board in Indonesia Islamic banks only still focuses on the compliance of Islamic banks with the sharia principles regarding the products and operations. Originality/value: The novelty of this study lies in highlighting the effect of sharia supervisory board as a unique characteristic of sharia governance.

This study aims to determine and analyze the impact of XBRL adoption on earnings management conducted by company management in Indonesia. Earnings management in this study is proxied by discretionary accruals. The population of this research is manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The research sample was selected using the purposive sampling method, and the resulted total sample of this research is 15 manufacturing companies. This research period includes the period before the adoption of XBRL (2012-2014) and the period after the adoption of XBRL (2015-2017). Hypothesis testing is done by a paired sample t-test. The results of hypothesis testing indicate that there are significant differences between the levels of earnings management in the period before and after the adoption of XBRL. These results reveal that the adoption of XBRL can limit the opportunistic behavior of management in presenting financial reporting. These results also reveal that the adoption of XBRL can improve the quality of financial reporting.

Research aims: This study aims to investigate the effect of corporate social responsibility on earnings management by considering the impact of investor protection.Design/Methodology/Approach: This study’s population was plantation companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange and Malaysia Stock Exchange. The period of this study was from 2012 to 2017. Moreover, the hypotheses testing technique used was multiple regression analysis.Research findings: This study’s results revealed that corporate social responsibility disclosure and investor protection significantly affected earnings management.Theoretical contribution/Originality: These results support the ethics hypothesis stating that companies committed to ethics view earnings management unethical behavior. This study also verifies the relationship between legal systems and earnings management.

This study aims to analyze the effect of fundamental factors and sustainability reporting on firm value. This study also investigates the moderation effect of corporate governance on the relationship of fundamental factors, sustainability reporting, and firm value. Design/methodology/approach: The population is all companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange and indexed in IDX30 throughout 2014-2020. The data are obtained from financial statements, annual reports, and sustainability reports. The analysis method used in this study is panel data regression analysis. Findings: This study shows that profitability and leverage as fundamental factors affect the firm value. This study also found that good corporate governance moderates the effect of the fundamental factors on firm value. However, the sustainability reporting cannot increase the firm value. Research implications: These results verify agency and signaling theories but do not support legitimacy and stakeholder theories. Practical implications: These results confirm that fundamental factors are still the investors' primary concerns about making investment decisions. Originality/value: The novelty of this study lies in highlighting corporate governance as a moderation variable in the relationship of fundamental factors, sustainability reporting, and firm value, which has still not been concluded yet.

This study aims to find and analyze the profitability level of Fried Onion Small Business in Palu City, influenced by Patronage Buying Motives (PBM), which consist of company reputation, location of sales, selling price and guarantee to profitability. The population of this study was 52. Population was chosen based on small business that still survives in fried onion business as a local business. The sample taken by purposive sampling was 35. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to the managers of fried onion small businesses. The analytical tool used is multiple linear analysis. The results shows that F test of PBM had a significant influence on profitability at 0,822 or 82.2%. This means a very strong influence of the value of PBM. T-test shows that corporate reputation is of significant value of 0,286, location of sales – 0,426, and selling price has a significant value of the 0.235 influence on profitability, except guarantees that do not affect profitability because the value of 0.151 is less than the t table value of 2.0395. The impact of this study implies that small food businesses do not really need a guarantee like electronic products, because reputation and quality have become their guarantee.
