United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (2016-2030) has the initiative to transform the education system through out the globe, to develop holistic individuals. For autistic children, holistic development should address the autistic children's needs of emotional therapy as well. This research has the objective to examine teachers" perspicacity on the implementation of Snoezelen Room for the emotional therapy of children with autism. In Malaysia, a Snoezelen Room was built at Hashim Awang Primary School to provide not only an interactive learning facility, but also to support the emotional therapy of autistic children. The research uses both the qualitative and quantitative approaches. The secondary data is collected via table research, to review the circumstantial situation surrounding the development of Snoezelen room. Meanwhile, for the primary data collection, a survey questionnaire is distributed to teachers who involved directly with the teachers" training program and implementation of the Snoezelen Room at the school. Those teachers have had special training to handle and teach children with autism. The collected survey data is then studied empirically by using statistical analysis approach, to generate intrinsic findings and conclusion. The quantitative analysis is divided into three parts which are demography of the respondents, Snoezelen Room preparation and Snoezelen Room implementation. All participated teachers gave positive feedback towards the implementation. They agreed that having a snoezelen room in the proximity of inclusive schools in Malaysia is deemed necessary to support the Malaysian national agenda of holistic educational approach. Hence, it is hoped that the Malaysian Education Ministry will establish more inclusive schools with the provision of Snoezelen rooms for holistic development of children with autism.
UniCITI Alam is a mixed development of commercial buildings and medium rise apartments. The whole development was designed based on the integration of student residential community with the combined commercial centre and temporary campus. The lecture rooms are located at the second floor of the triple-storey shop house. To improve the indoor environmental quality and comfortability of the teaching and learning activities, physical measurements of the indoor environment parameters (air temperature, relative humidity and carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration) and light intensity are the main methods applied in the presented case study. Data collected will be compared with Malaysian Standard MS 1525: 2007 (Code of Practice on Energy Efficiency and Use of Renewable for Non Residential Building) and DOSH. The finding will be used for improving the environmental quality of the lecture rooms and enhancing the ecology circle.
Abstract-A person's work environment is very important. We spend nearly as much time at work as we do at home and even for some office workers, they spend more at their office than home. Improper office environments can cause major stress for workers. Understanding office design and environment issues can help give insight on improving the atmosphere at work. Interior designer's office is the chosen typology for this research. Their offices should be the best examples in office design as they are the one who will be given a task to design their client's offices. Hence, more space requirements for their offices also gives challenge in understanding the real issues of workspace design. The objective of this research is to investigate the conditions and problems of existing designer's office in Kuala Lumpur within the scope of spatial arrangement, furniture and equipment provision. This research also attempts to get the user perception towards their existing workspace. For this purpose, a case study method is adopted. An observation of three selected designer's offices are conducted by doing a site measurement, site observation and questionnaire survey method to gather data on the user perception towards their existing workspace.Index Terms-Office design, office layout, office setting, designer's office, office workspaces and user perception.
it's clear to the world that the eastern Japan earthquake was the biggest disaster the modern world had ever came to face, that's why it was of great importance that we took crucial lessons of it on every aspect possible so that we can be more ready for future disasters, no matter what is their scale, because as we know disaster are going to come, in all shapes and kinds, and a major disaster like the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake is going to be upon us every few decades, so being ready, as calculations have proofed, spending and providing for the preparedness phase, is 7 times better, safer and cheaper, than trying to solve the problems in the recovery phase, after the disaster happens, in this study we'll be doing an analysis of the event, and suggesting numerous solutions to prevent the likelihood of a similar scenario in the future.
