Population growth has forced the planet to rethink attitudes towards sustainability. Meeting current and future human needs is a major challenge, as it involves trying to balance the exploitation of natural resources while meeting society's needs. This challenge becomes even greater when an exponential increase in population is observed. In this sense, one of the human needs is food, and therefore the production of beef has been the focus of study by environmentalists, due to the large occupation of areas. Thus, the main objective of this study is to understand consumer expectations according to different institutional logics and to identify the most adapted Industry 4.0 technologies to meet these requirements. For this, a bibliographical survey of the technologies used in the sector and the consumer's view of socio-environmental changes was carried out. It was observed in the results that there is a continuous need to use technologies in agriculture for monitoring, since the number of consumers concerned about the origin of the meat and an ecologically correct production has increased.
The pulp and paper sector is relevant in the Brazilian scenario for its role in social and economic development. However, the sector is under intense social pressure in combating social and environmental impacts, because is inserted in an environmentally sensitive productive context. Faced with these issues, this article seeks to relate the development of socioenvironmental events with the evolution of the socioenvironmental disclosures of pulp and paper companies, examining the presence of isomorphic processes among organizations of the sector through the analysis of sustainability reports in the years 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017. Using the Multiple Factor Analysis -AFM and descriptive statistics it was detected that the environmental category is the most relevant and the presence of three clusters was observed. Cluster 1 is negatively related to the socio-environmental categories analyzed, Cluster 3 is in opposition to Cluster 1, presenting high socio-environmental evidence indexes for all categories and Cluster 2 is related to low evidence for the product liability category. The most observed events are certifications, institutions and environmental documents that cause isomorphic behavior among companies, especially normative isomorphism through the influence of norms of private international institutions, governmental coertion and social interest groups.
AbstractThe pulp and paper sector industries are environmentally sensitive due to the high emission of pollutants in nature, consequently, these industries face great political and social pressures regarding socioenvironmental practices, therefore, when communicating their sustainable actions the companies increases the stakeholders´s satisfaction and consequently their image. The aim of this study is analyze the scientific publications evolution that study the socioenvironmental practices communication of the pulp and paper segment industries through a systematic review. Searches were carried out in the Scopus, Web of Science and Science Direct databases. 16 relevant articles were found. Among other results, several research opportunities were identified, such as the samples exploration in geographical regions that have not been studied yet or little investigated. The average would also be pertinent, in greater detail, as approaches to social performance, because the economic and environmental performances are the most used ones. In addition, research is conducted to make comparisons among places where socioenvironmental evidence is mandatory compared to places where evidence is voluntary. Finally, a shortage is noticed in development of studies that analyze socioenvironmental evidence through dynamic sources, such as social networks. Keywords: Scientific Production. Sustainability Reports. Environmental Disclosure. Paper and Cellulose.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
