A 3ª edição do Congresso Internacional de Estudantes e Profissionais da Saúde – DELTA SAÚDE, realizou-se de forma presencial no período de 04 a 06 de novembro de 2022, no Centro de Convenções do Hotel SESC Praia, Luis Correia, Piauí. O Delta Saúde 2022 trouxe como tema geral: “O pós-pandemia e os principais desafios da saúde global”; e as discussões foram norteadas pelos eixos centrais, a saber: a) Pandemia de COVID-19, b) Vigilância em Saúde, c) Saúde Pública e a Atenção Primária, d) Saúde Mental, e) Doenças Crônicas e Doenças Transmissíveis, f) Educação, Formação e Trabalho na Saúde, g) Inovação em Saúde, h) Eixos Transversais. O evento foi criado em 2017 e nesta edição alcançamos pelo menos 10 estados brasileiros em participação direta, palestrantes, convidados, além dos conferencistas internacionais on-line. Esta diversidade aliada a qualidade dos trabalhos apresentados, contribuiu de forma decisiva para o alcance dos objetivos do congresso que primam pela qualificação do ensino na saúde de acadêmicos e pósgraduandos, pelo fortalecimento das práticas profissionais nos serviços de saúde, e pelo incentivo à produção científica. A programação do evento foi composta por palestras nacionais e internacionais, mesas multidisciplinares, cursos livres, seminários, rodas de conversas, encontros e sessões de trabalhos com apresentações nas modalidades: Comunicações Orais e Pôsteres; e com publicação das pesquisas científicas nos Anais do congresso. O evento contou com 692 inscritos, e destes 42 foram palestrantes que abrilhantaram a programação do congresso. Recebemos 746 resumos para avaliação, e foram apresentados presencialmente 536 trabalhos, sendo 42 premiados com menção honrosa. O evento foi idealizado pela Sociedade Delta Científica e SBCSaúde, teve o apoio do SESC-PI e da Doity, além do apoio científico da FIOCRUZ Piauí, da Editora Pasteur, dos núcleos de pesquisa NUPCelt/UFPI, NAPsiTO/UFPI/UFDPar e NPPM/UFPI; e dos programas de residência multiprofissional RMSFC/UESPI e PRMSF/UFPI/UFDPar. O evento também contou com a parceria de empresas patrocinadoras e expositoras, que tiveram da Comissão Organizadora reciprocidade em suas demandas, a saber: Instituto UniEducacional, WM Saúde e The Nutri Store/PACCO.

Introduction: skeletal abnormalities in the cervical region are of great interest to anatomists and other health professionals. Fused cervical vertebrae (FCV) correspond to an important skeletal abnormality due to the fusion of two or more vertebrae. Case Report: owing to its clinical and embryological importance, herein, a case of cervical synostosis among a collection of anatomical pieces from a public university is reported. FCV were evidenced between the C5 and C6 vertebrae, with noticeable fusion of the vertebral bodies. Conclusion: the study of normal morphology and understanding of anatomical changes in the spine, such as FCV, represent the preponderant stage for the training of health professionals.

Cereal crops strongly contribute with the world economy and because of this the reduction of their productivity may lead to irreparable economic consequences worldwide. The maize weevil Sitophilus zeamais is the main pest of maize in the field or during processing, storage and commercialization of grains, also attacking processed food. The population control of S. zeamais uses a restrict panel of synthetic insecticides which are associated with environmental contamination, selection of resistant individuals and toxicity to non-target organisms, including humans and other animals. This scenario has stimulated the search for new insecticides and plant metabolites stand out because of their high degree of biodegradability and more selective toxicity. This work provides a review of the effect of plant compounds on S. zeamais to encourage the use of these ingredients in more ecofriendly strategies for pest control. Plant insecticides can exert their toxicity by ingestion, contact and/or fumigation resulting in damage to the development, survival and reproductive potential of S. zeamais, or may present food deterrent activity, which protects the substrates from the attack by the insects. The data reviewed contribute to consolidate the use of natural products in control of S. zeamais.

Angiogenesis (budding of new blood vessels) is involved in several processes, including the development of embryos and growth of tumors. Schinus terebinthifolia leaves express an antitumor lectin (SteLL). This work hypothesized that SteLL can interfere with the formation of a vascular network from preexisting vessels. To test this hypothesis, the effect of SteLL on the angiogenesis process was assessed using an in vivo model of yolk sac membrane of Coturnix japonica embryos. SteLL was isolated with purifi cation factor of 46.6. As expected, polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) for native basic proteins confi rmed the homogeneity and PAGE in presence of dodecyl sodium sulphate revealed a single 14-kDa polypeptide band. The fractal analysis by box counting and information dimension measurements indicated that SteLL at 1.35 mg/ mL signifi cantly decreased by ca. 12% the angiogenesis within the C. japonica yolk sac membrane regarding the control. The inhibition of the vascular network formation in the yolk sac membrane resulted in decreased blood supply to the embryos. Conse quently, the area of embryos was signifi cantly reduced by 9.2% regarding the control, which corroborated with the antiangiogenic activity of SteLL. The fi ndings implicate SteLL as an antiangiogenic agent and add to the panel of biological activities of this lectin.
