Social dynamics of a forest population regulates the dynamism of its diversity. Analysis of existing floral composition and their trend of affinity in an unhindered forest area provide us the information of its richness, threats (if any), sequestration rate, risk of invasive species, species in climax etc. In this context every forest population deserves the study of its phytosociology and considering this importance vegetation of Jainti forest under Buxa Tiger Reserve has been analyzed. This is an extension of the outer spurs of the Eastern Himalaya and the westernmost extension of extreme bio-diverse Northeast India which represents a part of the highly enriched and diversified IUCN recognized Himalaya Biodiversity Hotspot. The fragile "Terai Eco-system" constitutes a part of this Reserve (Rangini et al, 2013; http://projecttiger.nic.in/buxa.htm). This paper has tried to analyze only the relationship of different floral species and their present status (RD, RF, RDm and IVI) in Jainti forest, Buxa Tiger Reserve.
Jambudwip is an uninhabited island in the Indian part of Sundarban Biosphere Reserve (SBR), having particularly mangrove plants. A faunal survey was conducted during November 2016 at Jambudwip which has resulted in 27 species of moths under 24 genera belonging to 11 families reported for the f irst time exclusively from the mangroves of Jambudwip Island. The species composition of Jambudwip has been compared with nearby located f ive islands of SBR namely Sagar, Gosaba, Jharkhali, Bali and Satjelia which indicated maximum similarity with Jharkhali Island.
