The purpose of this study was to investigate the potential of learning strategies used as a tool for organ students in their first contact with a musical work. They were designed considering the initial practice of a contrapuntal organ piece and divided into the following categories: melodic, technical and contrapuntal strategies. This exploratory study filmed one organ student during ten organ lessons in order to assess his difficulties and build strategies for each one. The question arose: Did the student learn this score faster and more efficiently than the others of his repertoire for the semester? Results show that this work was ready for performance before the others even though it was considered the most challenging of all.
Kiefer's compositions, previously surveyed by Luciane CARDASSI (1998), as well as the presence of octatonic elements, are studied and related to preceding Kiefer's works. Set theory by Allan Forte is applied here as a theoretical basis. The density of the gestures observed in this late piece, and its brevity, point to a stylistic synthesis. ARCHIVES OF THE PERFORMER AND ARCHIVES OF PERFORMANCE: A REPORT OF AN EXPERIENCE OF THE CONSTITUTION OF A REFLECTIVE PROCESSAbstract: From the idea of paradigmatic rupture, imperative for research in Musical Performance, this paper suggests a possible questioning of the subject from the principle of the self-care as outlined by Foucault (2010) and converted to the musical scene by Vieira (2012). This methodological assumption explains how the integration between subject and object in the process of performance leads fertile source of theoretical objects to one's own artistic practice and research practice. The principle of self-care has a set of procedures that act gradually over the individual in terms of improvement of the soul of the subject, emphasizing spontaneity as well as the sense of subjectivity. Thus, maintaining file records of the activities involved in musical practice that represent a return to humanity and individuality present in the act of performance -archives of the performer and files and archives of the performance -serve as support for reflection that leads to the formation of the subjected subject. This constitution denotes an idea of the appropriation of construction and elaborations of the musical discourse of the otherness from becoming part of the very essence of the performer.
