Falls are a serious consequence of declining physical function. Otago exercise is a strength and balance training program designed to prevent falls and enhance health status among the elderly. This study aimed to investigate the effect of a 12-week Otago exercise intended to reduce the risk of falls and health status among the elderly with chronic illness in the social elderly institution. This quasi-experimental study employed a pre- and post-test design using a control group. The study involved an intervention group (21 respondents) and a control group (21 respondents). The sample used in this study were elderly living in a social elderly institution. The sample was selected using simple random sampling. The data were analyzed using Mann–Whitney test, independent t-test, and Chi-square test. Otago exercise significantly reduced the respondents’ risk of falling and enhanced their health status. Significant differences were observed between the two groups in terms of the risk of fall (p= 0.041) and health status (p= 0.011). Otago exercise significantly improves the health status and reduces the risk of falling among elderly with chronic illness. The exercise can be recommended for older adults with chronic illness in social elderly institutions and communities.
The emergency department in a hospital tends to pose a high stress level. This is due to the conditions, i.e., life-threatening condition of patients that often trigger the stress on the nurses. The nurses are required to act immediately and to possess specific skills to provide accurate treatment to the patients. Such a condition signifies the major role of nurses in a hospital. It also demands improvement in the performances of the nurses to conceptualize quality health services. Occupational stress is a term used to refer to depression or emotion, being irritable towards the situation of the workplace, and it is signified by both mental and physical condition of a person. This inevitably affects one’s health as and the spiritual condition. Excessive workload is among the factors causing occupational stress. This study aims at exploring the correlation between workload and occupational stress of nurses in the emergency department of Regional Public Hospital RSUD. Prof. Dr. W. Z. Johannes Kupang. The cross-sectional study involved 40 respondents selected using a total sampling method. The data were analyzed using the Pearson chi-square correlation. It is revealed that the p-value 0.000 is lower than α 0.05, meaning that H0 is rejected and signifying that workload correlates with the occupational stress of the nurses in the research site.

Introduction: The development of technology has an impact on the realm of education, particularly in the form of an electronic-based learning method (e-learning). The application of the e-learning method for studying is considered as a way to enhance knowledge, specifically for nursing science to be more efficient during the COVID-19 pandemic. Purpose: This study aims to examine the effect of the e-learning method on the understanding of second-year nursing students toward surgical-medical nursing lecture material in STIKes Maranatha Kupang. Methods: The research design used in this study was a quasi-experimental design with one group pre-post test only. Respondents in this study were 39 people. Data collection was conducted by measuring students' comprehension of the topic of the course being taught. The study material was given through the online system for 150 minutes using the zoom application. Subsequently, respondents were remeasured with the same questions after the lecture session using the edLink application. The statistical test in this study used the Wilcoxon test. Results: The preliminary test obtained a mean of 32.69 with min-max 0-60 and post-test 71.79 with min-max of 55-90. The statistical test result of the p-value was 0,002. Conclusion: The increase of mean value after the post-test and also the statistical test results of p-value < 0.005 provide the evidence that the e-learning method affects the second-year nursing students’ comprehension concerning the material of medical-nursing courses in STIKes Maranatha Kupang.
