Objetivou-se no presente estudo avaliar as respostas da variedade de mandioca Jurará creme submetida à adubação química com fósforo e nitrogênio em diferentes dias de aplicação após a brotação (DAB). O experimento foi realizado na Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia, Belém-PA. Utilizou-se o delineamento experimental em blocos casualizados com cinco tratamentos (T1- adubação fosfatada na fundação + adubação nitrogenada 30 DAB; T2- adubação fosfatada 30 DAB + adubação nitrogenada 60 DAB; T3- adubação fosfatada 30 DAB + adubação nitrogenada 90 DAB; T4- adubação fosfatada 30 DAB + adubação nitrogenada 120 DAB; T5- adubação fosfatada 30 DAB + adubação nitrogenada 150 DAB) e cinco repetições. As variáveis analisadas foram: diâmetro do caule; altura da planta; número de raízes totais e comerciais; número de folhas; massa fresca (cepa, raízes totais sem cepa, raízes comerciais, caule e folhas); comprimento de raízes total e comerciais; diâmetro de raízes comerciais; massa seca (cepa, raízes comerciais, caule e folhas); e índice de colheita. Os dados foram submetidos a Análise de Variância e teste de Tukey a 5%. Constatou-se que os tratamentos T4 e T5 afetaram positivamente o número de folhas, diâmetro do caule, número de raízes totais e comerciais, comprimento de raízes totais e comerciais, diâmetro de raízes comerciais, massa fresca de raízes totais e comerciais, massa fresca do caule, massa fresca das folhas, massa seca da cepa, massa seca do caule e índice de colheita. Dessa forma, concluiu-se que a variedade de mandioca jurará creme foi mais responsiva quando a adubação fosfatada foi realizada aos 30 dias após a brotação e adubação nitrogenada realizada aos 120 e 150 dias após a brotação.
Este trabalho teve como objetivo caracterizar espécimes de japana (Ayapana triplinervis) do horto medicinal da Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia - Campus Belém em diferentes tipos de testes histoquímicos. Algumas plantas possuem uma grande quantidade de variedades, ecotipos e quimiotipos, dificultando a identificação da mesma. As fotomicrografias em microscopia fotônica foram obtidas a partir de lâminas histológicas dos órgãos vegetativos da raiz, caule e folha, confeccionadas a mão livre, seguindo as técnicas usuais da anatomia vegetal. Os testes histoquímicos foram feitos através da utilização dos reagentes Sudan Black B (Pearse), Lugol (Johansen et al) e Azul de Toluidina (O’ Brien et al), para a detecção dos compostos de lipídios, amido e polissacarídeos ácidos, respectivamente, seguindo a metodologia citada nas literaturas destes autores.
A cultura do milho é de muita importância para a agricultura brasileira pela sua grande diversidade de utilização, tanto na alimentação animal como na indústria de alta tecnologia, dessa forma, objetivou-se avaliar as características agronômicas e nos teores de nutrientes na cultura do milho, cultivados em solos de diferente textura. O experimento foi desenvolvido em casa de vegetação, no departamento de solos da Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia, campus Belém, com o objetivo de avaliar os efeitos de doses de nitrogênio (0, 50, 100, 150, 200 kg há-1) em solos de diferentes texturas (argilosa e arenosa). Foram avaliados a altura de planta, diâmetro do coleto, massa seca folha e teores de nutrientes (N, P, K, Ca e Mg) no tecido foliar na cultura do milho (Zea mays L). Utilizou-se o delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial de 5x2 distribuídos em cinco repetições. O solo foi acondicionado em vasos plásticos com capacidade de 5 dcm3 onde com as duas texturas (arenosa e argilosa). Ocorreu efeito significativo (P ≤ 0,01), para todas as variáveis analisadas. As doses de nitrogênio influenciaram positivamente na altura, diâmetro e massa seca das folhas do milho, com maiores incrementos no solo de textura argilosa. Os teores de nutrientes na cultura do milho no solo de textura média decresceram à medida que se aumentava a doses de N, exceto para o teor de Mg. Os teores de nutriente para o solo de textura argilosa, mostraram melhor resposta à aplicação das doses de N.
