La presente investigación está dirigida a la obtención de una propuesta de mejora del accionamiento y limpieza de la prensa filtro en plantas extractoras de aceite de palma. Se plantea sustituir el volante de prensado accionado manualmente, por un apriete mecánico de la prensa accionado por un motor-reductor y el uso de bridas conectadas al tornillo de ajuste y al motor-reductor respectivamente. Mediante un análisis CAD/CAE en Autodesk Inventor se simuló el comportamiento de dos variantes de diseño de estructura de acero galvanizado de un carro para el soporte y traslado del residuo de pasta. El mejor comportamiento desde el punto de vista técnico-económico, lo tuvo la estructura de la variante “A” con perfil cuadrado de sección 30x30x3, soportada sobre seis ruedas giratorias; con tensiones de Von Mises 3,4 veces inferiores a su límite elástico, un desplazamiento de 0,36 mm y un coeficiente de seguridad de la estructura de 3,42.
En los años veinte Van der Pol y Van der Mark descubren que la ecuación de segundo orden de oscilación de relajación modelaba el fenómeno generado cuando un marcapasos impulsa a un corazón real. Esto generó gran interés en el estudio de la ecuación de Van der Pol y Van der Mark, desde entonces se han realizado una gran variedad de modificaciones a la ecuación con la finalidad de obtener mejores resultados del estudio de la dinámica de ritmos cardiacos, modelar fenó- menos físicos y biológicos entre otros. Este trabajo exhibe una revisión y evolución de la ecuación de Van der Pol desde sus inicios hasta la actualidad enfocado en aquellas ecuaciones de segundo orden relacionadas con la dinámica del ritmo cardiaco. Se destaca la aparición de la llamada ecuación modificada de Van der Pol a partir de los años noventa hasta la actualidad.
