The coastal areas of both Jayapura Municipality and Regency which is directly opposite to the Pacific Ocean with the multifunctional use is a vulnerable area to disasters. The coastal vulnerability is determined by considering some influential factors, that is geomorphology and elevation to minimize the coastal damage impacts. The purpose of this study is to determine the coastal vulnerability index of Jayapura City and Regency focusing on the coastal geomorphology and elevation. The study area covers a coastal area of 241.86 km along the coastlines of Jayapura Municipality and Regency. The study method includes data collection on the coastal geomorphology and elevation characteristics. The value of coastal vulnerability index of each parameter is determined by dividing into five categories of coastal vulnerability. The result shows territorial division as follows: 145.88 km (61.18%) was not vulnerable, 33.14 km (13.90%) was less vulnerable, 29.03 km (12.17%) was a moderate vulnerability, 12.12 km (5.08%) was vulnerable, and the remaining 18.29 km (7.67%) was very vulnerable. The coastal vulnerability of Jayapura City coastal areas categorized into three classes, i.e. not vulnerable, moderate vulnerable and vulnerable, while the Jayapura Regency coastal areas felt into the following classes: not vulnerable and moderate vulnerable. The most vulnerable areas were of Abepura District, South Jayapura District and Muaratami District, all in the Jayapura Municipality administration. Those areas with high elevation level were not vulnerable at all.
Mangrove ecotourism is one of the potential sustainable tourism practice in which it is important to support local economic development and mangrove conservation. The purpose of this research is to identify the potential of natural resources in supporting mangrove ecotourism on the coast of Hamadi Beach, Jayapura City and to analyze the suitability of mangrove ecotourism land on the coast of Hamadi Beach, Jayapura City. The method used in this study is a survey method. The survey was conducted to see the biophysical condition of mangrove forests, which include mangrove length, mangrove density, mangroves species and biota species. Then, the biophysical data will be analyzed with Ecotourism Suitability Index (ESI). The survey results showed that the average mangroves' length was 254 meters, the average mangrove density of 12,367 individuals.ha -1 . Mangrove species found included Avicennia alba, Avicennia lanata, Avicennia marina, Acrostichum speciosum, Bruguiera sexangula, Rhizopora apiculata, Rhizopora mucronata, Rhizopora stylosa, and Sonneratia alba. The types of biota found consisted of birds, reptiles, amphibians, molluscs, crustaceans, and insects. The results of the suitability index of mangrove ecotourism obtained the Ecotourism Suitability Index (ESI) value of 77.78%. This study concludes that the mangrove forest area in Hamadi Beach is very suitable for ecotourism areas. Therefore, it is suggested to make a good and environmentally friendly ecotourism arrangement concept, so the community can travel while learning in the mangrove ecosystem area in Hamadi Beach.
Asian Redtail Catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus) is one of the freshwater fish commodities that lives on several rivers in Indonesia. Unavailability of Asian Redtail Catfish throughout Indonesia causing the provider area to become a target market for distributing Asian Redtail Catfish. This study aims to find out the effect of administering the optimal anesthetic dose of banana stem liver extract for anesthesia and the survival rate of Asian Redtail Catfish in dry system transportation testing. The research method used is the complete random design method (RAL) 3 treatments and 3 repetitions, where P1 (dose 1%), P2 (dose 2%), and P3 (dose 3%). The results showed that a dose of 1% banana stem liver extract gave the best results in the dry system transportation test process with a duration of 76 minutes 35 seconds, a conscious recovery duration of 7 minutes 1 second, and a survival rate. Survival rate Asian Redtail Catfish amounted to 94.43% of the total sample. This proves that the anesthesia of banana stem liver extract affects the survival rate of Asian Redtail Catfish with an optimum dose of 1% and further research is needed on dosing and the correlation between samples and variables
Polyculture is cultivation in one container that produces more than one species of fish simultaneously. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect on the growth of gouramy in polyculture system. This study uses an experimental method of Completely Randomized Design (CRD) 4 treatments and 4 repetitions that is P1 (15 species gouramy), P2 (10 species of limnetic lobster ad is species of gouramy), P3 (15 species of limnetic lobster and 15 species of gouramy), and P4 (20 species of limnetic and 15 species of gouramy). The data analysis used is analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) for futher test, while the quality of water is analysed descriptively. The observation result show that different stocking density treatment affects absolute length growth of gouramy (O.gouramy). This is because the stocking density of limnetic lobster (C. quadricarinatus) is different for each treatment on gouramy (O. gouramy). The highest average result of measure ment of absolute weight growth is 1,45 ± 0,017 g. This is because the stocking density of limnetic lobster (C. quadricarinatus) at P2 is low. Low stocking density provides suitable space for gouramy to move and live. The maintenance of the polyculture system is better done with 10 species of limnetic lobster and 15 species gouramy because it makes the best absolute length and weight growth
