Cette étude consiste en une évaluation de dix projets francophones visant à prévenir l’illettrisme dans le contexte familial. Plus particulièrement, l’étude vise à décrire le fonctionnement et les résultats de ces projets, à évaluer comment ils travaillent concrètement à leur effectivité et à présenter quelques pratiques inspiratrices de soutien familial préventif. Nous avons évalué l’efficacité des projets à l’aide d’une échelle d’impact permettant de situer chaque projet à un certain niveau d’efficacité. Il ressort de cette analyse que les projets se situent principalement en bas de cette échelle dans la mesure où ils sont plutôt ‘practice-based’ que ‘theorybased’.
Dans cette recherche, nous tentons de cerner les variables qui permettent d'expliquer les différences de performance en mathématiques entre élèves et entre classes de sixième primaire en Belgique francophone. Nous mettons en évidence l'influence de la composition de la classe, du climat de discipline et du rythme des cours sur les résultats des élèves. En outre, nous analysons dans quelle mesure l'influence des caracté-ristiques de la classe varie en fonction de la composition de la classe (caractéristiques moyennes des élèves au sein des classes). Nous montrons que dans les classes plutôt « défavorisées », les résultats des élèves en mathématiques sont meilleurs lorsque l'enseignant fait appel à leurs représentations initiales et que le rythme des cours est soutenu.
