O behaviorismo radical tem sido alvo de muitas críticas, principalmente no que se refere às questões éticas. A despeito dessas críticas, Skinner considera a análise do comportamento uma ciência dos valores, discutindo a moralidade em termos de comportamento moral. Entretanto, a afirmação de que a análise do comportamento é uma ciência dos valores pode ter consequências sociais distintas a depender do modelo de ciência adotado como pressuposto. O debate científico contemporâneo trata da crise do modelo moderno de ciência e do surgimento de outro: o modelo pós-moderno. Uma das diferenças entre essas duas propostas científicas refere-se à relação entre ciência e sociedade. Considerando esses aspectos, o objetivo deste trabalho é discutir qual modelo de ciência, moderno ou pós-moderno, norteia a assertiva skinneriana que declara a análise do comportamento uma ciência dos valores. Para tanto, serão apresentadas, inicialmente, algumas concepções tradicionais de explicação do comportamento moral e as principais críticas que Skinner dirige a elas. Em seguida, o sistema ético skinneriano será analisado, juntamente às questões sociais envolvidas na prática do analista do comportamento. E, por fim, discutir-se-á como cada modelo de ciência pode subsidiar práticas de intervenção diferentes, com consequências sociais igualmente distintas.
O termo conhecer é comumente usado em situações cotidianas ou educacionais. Discutir esse termo é relevante, na medida em que sua concepção pode implicar nas práticas de ensino adotadas. A Análise do Comportamento tem contribuído para a educação por meio de discussões teóricas e tecnologias que favorecem o processo de ensino. Diante disso, o presente estudo visou a apresentar e a esclarecer as acepções do termo sob a ótica da Análise do Comportamento e abordar formas de ensiná-lo. Para tanto, foram selecionados dois textos de Skinner sobre o tema. Utilizou-se o Procedimento de Interpretação Conceitual de Texto como método de análise. Nas Etapas 1 e 2 foram levantadas as definições do termo conhecer presentes nos textos, as teses tradicionais, críticas e teses alternativas discutidas pelo autor. Como resultado, foram discutidas as teses tradicionais descritas como “teoria da cópia” e “teoria da informação” e as críticas atribuídas a elas. Como teoria alternativa, apresentou-se a acepção de que conhecer é comportamento, e como tal, pode ser ensinado. Conhecer pode ser entendido como saber fazer, comportar-se de modo efetivo, modificar o repertório comportamental e agir sob controle de algo. Seu ensino envolve colocar os alunos em contato com contingências relevantes para seu aprendizado, ensinar regras que tenham relação com as contingências de vida e planejar para que entrem em contato com as contingências descritas pelas regras. Entende-se que responder a pergunta “como ensinar” parece ser tão importante quanto a pergunta “o que ensinar” para garantir que o aluno conheça.Palavras-chave: Conhecimento, educação, aprendizagem.
O projeto de extensão “Educação ecológica, desenvolvimento regional e cidadania global: a conservação de riachos urbanos da região metropolitana de Maringá” é um trabalho interdisciplinar, cujo objetivo era sensibilizar a população e os futuros cidadãos sobre a necessidade da conservação dos riachos urbanos e fundos de vale. A execução do projeto se deu por meio de mostras científicas em escolas da região metropolitana de Maringá e contou com a participação de diversas áreas do conhecimento, como biologia, psicologia, geografia e artes cênicas. A psicologia analisou a efetividade das atividades realizadas nas escolas e indicou que a proposta de educação ambiental estava mais voltada para a dimensão comportamental do “dizer” que do “fazer”. A análise psicológica propôs, então, algumas mudanças no projeto de modo que os alunos não só falassem (“dizer”) sobre a preservação do meio ambiente, mas que também emitissem comportamentos (“fazer”) tidos como pró-ambientais.
