Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektifitas pendekatan rational emotive behavior therapy dalam mengatasi tendensi perilaku self injury pada siswa. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif jenis pre eksperimen dengan rancangan one group pretest posttest design. Jenis pengambilan sampel menggunakan non-random sampling, dengan teknik penarikan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 12 orang siswa kelompok eksperimen yang tertendensi melakukan perilaku self injury. Analisis statistik data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu statistik non-parametrik. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan skala tendensi perilaku self injury yang telah memenuhi syarat instrumen penelitian, dengan menggunakan model Skala Likert, kemudian data di analisis dengan menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara tendensi perilaku self injury siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakukan menggunakan rational emotive behavior therapy. 2) nilai skor posttest lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan nilai skor pretest. 3) Hal ini menggambarkan adanya penurunan yang signifikan tendensi perilaku self injury yang dimiliki siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakukan menggunakan rational emotive behavior therapy.
