El Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana (VIH) y el SARS-CoV-2 comprometen el sistema inmunitario, esta coinfección puede conllevar a complicaciones más severas por COVID-19. El objetivo del estudio fue analizar los factores de riesgo y manifestaciones clínicas en pacientes con Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana y COVID-19. El diseño investigativo fue documental y descriptivo; la recolección de datos bibliográficos se obtuvo mediante la revisión de fuentes electrónicas como PubMed, Medigraphic, ScienceDirect, Cochrane, Scielo y Elsevier. Como principal resultado se evidenció que los factores de riesgo de mayor incidencia fue la diabetes, hipertensión arterial, patologías pulmonares, edad avanzada y hábitos nocivos; las manifestaciones clínicas más frecuentes son tos seca, cefalea, disnea, vómitos, diarrea y malestar general; por último, las complicaciones clínicas corresponden a compromiso renal, mayor riesgo de intubación, insuficiencia cardíaca, leucopenia y neumonías. Se concluye que existen algunos factores de riesgo que predisponen al contagio por covid-19 como las enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles, la obesidad y el consumo de tabaco; la sintomatología es similar a la población en general y las repercusiones son de tipo respiratorio, renal, cardíaca e inclusive conlleva a la muerte.
Garantizar la seguridad y la atención del paciente es una de las principales razones por las que la calidad y la precisión de los resultados de laboratorio clínico son de suma importancia. Las medidas de garantía de calidad en los laboratorios clínicos tienen como objetivo minimizar los errores y garantizar que los pacientes reciban resultados de prueba precisos y confiables. Al adherirse a estrictos protocolos de control de calidad, los laboratorios pueden mejorar la atención al paciente y prevenir daños potenciales causados por resultados incorrectos o engañosos. En consecuencia, el objetivo de la presente investigación consiste en plasmar aspectos fundamentales relacionados con la regulación sanitaria y el control de calidad en el laboratorio clínico, los cuales son aspectos garantes de la precisión y la seguridad de los resultados de diagnóstico. La investigación se realizó bajo una metodología de tipo documental bibliográfica, bajo la modalidad de revisión. En el laboratorio clínico es evidente la necesidad de contar con un sistema de gestión de la calidad y de competencia técnica, por cuanto es el lugar que da origen a la gran mayoría de las decisiones médicas. En ese sentido, resulta fundamental que los laboratorios clínicos, cumplan con toda la regulación sanitaria, ya sea internacional o nacional, obtengan sus certificaciones y acreditaciones; y de esta forma, contribuyan con la ciencia médica ofreciendo los mejores resultados de laboratorio.
Con el fin de determinar los hábitos de práctica de ética y bioseguridad en la toma de muestra sanguínea a gestantes para el diagnóstico del virus de inmunodeficiencia humana con respecto a las normas y barreras destinadas a pruebas prenatales del virus de la inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH) y las estrategias de manejo para pacientes obstétricas y seropositivas para el VIH, se aplica como método la revisión bibliográfica el cual se aplicó para recopilar la información más relevante sobre ética y bioseguridad desde fuentes académicas de alto impacto. Los resultados obtenidos destacan que existe información relevante pero no muy extensa sobre el tema, pero se logra obtener una respuesta clara a la preocupación y la necesidad de la investigación y así ve la difusión de la misma. La conclusión destaca que los trabajadores deben ser correctamente informado sobre técnicas de ética y bioseguridad para lograr identificar factores de riesgo en las mujeres gestantes y lograr el cumplimiento de sus funciones y en caso de un paciente gestante positivo mantener vigilancia para lograr minimizar o eliminar el riesgo de un contagio accidental. Se recomienda el análisis y publicación de normas para lograr minimizar este impacto en el personal de salud y para seguridad de las gestantes.
