Education s vital to every Filipino especially the delivery of quality education without compromising the health and safety of the students amidst COVID 19 pandemic. With the current global health crisis and government pronouncements prohibiting the conduct of face-to-face classes both in basic education (DepEd) and Higher education (CHED). Isabela State University has decided to roll out and launched its new approach, called telEducation. It has ramped up its efforts in fully implementing flexible remote learning for its students to ease its transition to what might become the new normal for educational institutions. This study utilized a descriptive survey method of investigation to secure adequate and reliable data. The researcher used this design to gather necessary data, assess and determine the challenges facing nursing education in the new normal by the nursing faculty of Isabela State University, College of Nursing. The questionnaires were floated through the use of google forms as a platform. The respondents who participated in this study were 15 nursing faculty comprises of 7 permanent as core faculty and 8 instructors under a contract of service. This study concluded that inadequate instructor training for new normal education; limited time for the preparation of modules, exams, and other related to instruction is due to the limited time of the university administrators or concern authorities to conduct since the summer class has already implemented. The said interventions made it more difficult to conduct due to the implementing community quarantines. Furthermore, there are numerous nursing-related experiences/activities but limited time for implementation; Students find it difficult to comprehend some activities due to the absence of physical contact of the instructor/s; faculty experiencing physical problems (eg. eye strain and frontal headache) due to long hours of exposure on computer monitor or gadgets are noted concerns in relation to the delivery of instructions. Nursing indeed is the art of caring and selfless giving of time, effort, love, and care. The patient is the center of nursing, and it is their responsibility to make sure they are receiving the right care that they can receive. There are so many ways to show caring that the possibilities never end. The purpose of this study was to generate knowledge which informed caring in nursing as a discipline within applying attributes of caring. Mayeroff and Roach’s attributes guided the concept analysis within the theoretical perspective of caring. The emerging themes are: Caring as the central focus of Nursing, Caring as a Profession and Discipline, Our perspective of caring, Our idea of a caring nurse, and How does Nurse care for others. We have looked closely at the article on factors of psychological status of primary medical staff during the COVID-19 outbreak. In bivariate-analysis, marriage was correlated with all mental health measures (SAS, DAS and MQSPHE), age was correlated with MQSPHE, education was correlated with one aspect of MQSPHE, namely hypochondriasis, while gender was not correlated with mental health. However, at multivariate-analysis, only marriage was proven to be a factor of mental health. 1 Then the questions arise: 1) Is it true that age, education and gender are not factors of mental health? 2) Could it be that these three are indirect factors of mental health? In multivariate-analysis, the authors used logistic-regression test to prove simultaneous effect of the four factors, and only marriage was proven as a factor of mental health; whereas in the previous stage (bivariate-analysis), the authors have proven that age and education were also correlated with mental health. This indicates that age and education are actually a factor of mental health, although only as an indirect factor. Thus, it is necessary to carry out further analysis to prove whether age, education and gender are indirect factors of mental health. In this case, the appropriate method to use is path-analysis, 2 for example using the following alternative pathways:1. Age→ marriage→ mental health. 2. Education→ marriage→ mental health. 3. Gender→ marriage→ mental health. For example, it is assumed that age affects marriage, then marriage affects mental health, as well as for other paths; and the authors can modify it.Based on the paths, and referring to similar problems, 3,4 we suggest that the authors carry out further analysis using path-analysis with Smart-PLS program because all independent variables are categorical data. 2 This method is expected to prove the status of age, education and gender as indirect factors of mental health of medical staff during the COVID-19 outbreak.
The implementation Omnibus Policy on Kindergarten Education was conducted primarily to determine the extent the implementation of the provisions stipulated in the DepEd Order no. 47, series 2016. It serves as the basis for the continuing enhancement in the operation and management of the kindergarten program; a benchmark that will motivate the administrators to initiate continuous improvement on all areas of concerns in the operation of the program as to Instruction, assessment, learning resources, and instructional materials, learning space and environment, and monitoring and evaluation in cluster 2 of the City Schools Division of Dasmarinas, Cavite. The methodology used was a descriptive normative survey through a structured questionnaire which contents were based on the DepEd Order no. 47, series 2016. The nominal data were treated using simple frequency count and percentage distribution, weighted mean was utilized on the areas of implementation in the Omnibus Policy on Kindergarten Education, and Chi-Square was used to test the significant relationship of the demographic profile of the respondents to the implementation of the omnibus policy, whereas ANOVA was used to determine the significant difference between the perception of respondents to the implementation of the Omnibus Policy on Kindergarten Education. Significant results of the study revealed that Assessment, Instruction, and Monitoring and Evaluation got the highest rating as always observed, whereas, Learning resources and instructional materials, and Learning space and environment were felt the same but of lower weighted mean. It is highly remarkable that inadequate play area and equipment found to be the most serious concern in the implementation of the Kindergarten program, and Information and Technology (ICT).
