Introduction. One of the innovative directions of modern studies of adolescence is the study of plans for late ontogenesis. At the same time, when analyzing the scientific literature, there is a conflict between the importance of preparing for the problems of retirement age, starting from youth, and the active unwillingness of young people to consider this issue in relation to themselves. The purpose of the study is to identify the features of plans for old age among students of late adolescence and ways to activate boys and girls in planning this part of their future. Research methods. Questioning was chosen as the research method. Two author's questionnaires were developed, constructed in such a way as to activate students in considering their plans for old age. In particular, the structure of questionnaire No. 2 included questions focusing on aspects of one's own security, preparation for which should begin from adolescence. The study involved students of Yelets State University in the amount of 100 people, aged 18-22 years. Results. A more positive attitude towards the issues of life planning in old age was revealed, in contrast to the data of other authors, which is explained by the very methodology of the study, which stimulated students to search for tools to combat the problems of old age. It was found that, in general, the majority of respondents (68%) are oriented towards continuing their labor activity, while 12% of them plan a free work schedule, and 20% expect to look for an easier job. At the same time, it was noted that traditional forms of life activity in old age make up 38% in the plans of young people, relatively new ones also – 38%, and innovative – 24%, which indicates the responsible nature of such planning. The study showed that students can predict both preventive measures to prevent the negative factors of old age, and measures to overcome the consequences of aging that have already begun, provided that they are given anti-victim attitudes to ensure their safety in the later stages of age development. Conclusion. It is noted that in the system of educating young people at a university, within the framework of the institution of mentoring, it is important to form among students not only a respectful value attitude towards the older generation, but also an awareness of the main problems of older people in relation to their future.
