O controle biológico com microorganismos antagônicos é alcançado por várias interações diretas entre antagonistas e microorganismos patogênicos vegetais; estas interações são chamadas de mecanismos de ação. Os mecanismos de ação antagônica têm sido amplamente estudados a fim de controlar o desenvolvimento de microorganismos patogênicos vegetais. No presente estudo, foi avaliada a incidência de dois antagonistas (Bacillus subtilis e Trichoderma harzianum) na cultura da pimenta. O trabalho experimental foi realizado no terreno do projeto de irrigação Babahoyo do CEDEGE de propriedade do Sr. Nilo Placencio Mosquera, localizado no Recinto Valle Verde no km 9 via Babahoyo Montalvo. Um desenho de bloco completo randomizado foi aplicado em um arranjo fatorial, com microorganismos como fator A e doses como fator B, em três réplicas. Os tratamentos consistiram em doses de Bacillus subtilis QST 713 (1,0 e 1,5 L/ha) e Trichoderma harzianum (1,0 e 1,5 L/ha), mais um controle sem aplicação. Os meios foram avaliados usando o teste de Tukey com 95% de probabilidade. As variáveis avaliadas foram: número de frutos na colheita, diâmetro dos frutos, comprimento dos frutos, peso dos frutos, plantas por hectare, frutos por hectare, incidência de patógenos, gravidade das plantas atacadas, rendimento por hectare. Os resultados concluíram que as aplicações de Bacillus subtillis + Trichoderma harzyanum em doses de 2,0 L/ha, respectivamente, alcançaram maiores rendimentos sem serem estatisticamente superiores aos outros tratamentos. Além disso, a aplicação de Bacillus subtillis e Trichoderma harzyanum, em todas as suas doses e combinações, não diferiu estatisticamente do tratamento onde não foi aplicado. Bacillus subtillis + Trichoderma harzyanum na dose de 2,0 L/ha, apresentou o melhor rendimento com 25578, 7 kg ha-1.
