A mathematical method of reduction of optimization parameters is proposed to find the optimal settings of the PID controller. The proposed method is implemented in the Mathcad program, examples of its use for two technical objects are illustrated when a set of controller settings is found to achieve optimal quality of the control process. The first object is a computer model of the process of regulating the liquid level in the tank. The second is a computer model of the temperature control process in the tank using a PID controller. The proposed method and algorithm of the solution can be implemented using both licensed and free software
The article discusses the search for optimal settings of the PID controller using the tools of Simulink package by the example of a technical object. Two methods are analyzed. When using the first method, the automatic selection of the controller parameter is carried out by changing the settings manually. The second one is automatic using the Simulink package according to the program "PID Tuner". The algorithm for determining the PID controller settings using the "PID Controller" block is presented with a detailed illustration on a specific example
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
