Rooting of cuttings of ornamental fodder in different concentrations of indolebutyric acid ABSTRACT:The objective of the present study was to evaluate or rooting of ornamental fodder cuttings submitted to different concentrations of indolebutyric acid. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse, in a 5x5 factorial scheme (ornamental facies: alternantera-variegada, alternantera-red, pileia-aluminum, pileia-laced and vedelia, and indolbutyric acid (IBA) concentrations: 0, 250, 500, 1,000 and 2,000 mg kg -1 ) with five replicates. The cuttings were collected from the clonal garden of the Floriculture Department of the Department of Plant Science of the Federal University of Santa Maria, with an average of 7 to 10 cm, with a bevel cut, maintaining 50% of the leaf area and rooted in bark of charred rice. There is a percentage of rooting of the cuttings, number and root length and stability of the clod. It was observed that all ornamental plant species studied rooted without the use of AIB growth regulators. And, that the benefits of the use of growth regulator for increased rooting of the cuttings, number and root length.
