<p>O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a resistência dos couros de pés de frango processados com diferentes técnicas de curtimento, a base de sais de cromo, taninos vegetais e sintéticos. As peles foram distribuídas em um delineamento inteiramente casualizado em quatro tratamentos, sendo quatro técnicas de curtimento: (Trat<sub>1</sub> = 4% sais de cromo, SC; Trat<sub>2</sub> = 4% tanino sintético, TS; Trat<sub>3</sub> = 4% tanino vegetal, TV; Trat<sub>4</sub> = 2% tanino vegetal + 2% sintético). Após o processamento, foram retirados os corpos de prova dos couros, para os testes de resistência à tração e alongamento e de rasgamento progressivo. Os couros analisados apresentaram diferentes espessuras, sendo que os recurtidos com tanino vegetal apresentaram maior espessura (0,78 mm), não diferindo dos com sais de cromo (0,74 mm). Não houve diferença significativa para os testes de resistência à tração e alongamento e rasgamento progressivo (em que os valores médios foram de 6,36 N/mm<sup>2</sup>, 33,45% e 23,20N/mm respectivamente). As peles dos pés de frango podem ser curtidas por qualquer uma das quatro técnicas analisados neste experimento para uso em acessórios e artefatos em geral.</p><br />
O objetivo deste experimento foi avaliar as características de resistência do rúmen e do retículo submetidos ao processo de curtimento com diferentes agentes curtentes. Quarenta rúmens e retículos foram curtidos com sais de cromo e distribuídos em quatro diferentes recurtimentos (Trat1 = sais de cromo; Trat 2 = tanino vegetal; Trat 3 = tanino sintético e Trat 4 = tanino vegetal + sintético). O rúmen apresentou maior elasticidade, diferindo significativamente do retículo. A técnica de recurtimento com tanino sintético conferiu maior elasticidade e o vegetal + sintético menor elasticidade (86,05% e 68,77%, respectivamente). Os rúmens apresentaram resistência à tração (2,14 N/mm2) e rasgamento progressivo (21,93 N/mm) significativamente maior quando comparados aos dos retículos (1,82 N/mm2 e 12,20 N/mm, respectivamente). Os rúmens e retículos recurtidos com tanino sintético (2,13 N/mm2) apresentaram maior resistência à tração entre os tratamentos, diferindo significativamente dos recurtidos com tanino vegetal (1,40 N/mm2). A utilização de tanino sintético (21,03 N/mm) conferiu maior resistência ao rasgamento progressivo, porém não diferiu significativamente do cromo (15,99 N/mm) e tanino vegetal (17,44 N/mm). Não houve diferença significativa para alongamento. Apesar de baixa resistência após o curtimento dos rúmens e retículos, estes apresentaram uma grande beleza para aplicação como detalhes em artefatos em geral.
