Objetivou-se investigar a satisfação profissional percebida de enfermeiros de uma instituição hospitalar do Sul do Brasil. Pesquisa quantitativa, desenvolvida com 144 enfermeiros de um hospital universitário, no período de dezembro de 2014 a fevereiro de 2015, utilizando-se o Índice de Satisfação Profissional. Os resultados evidenciaram que 79,2% (n=114) dos enfermeiros referem possuir autonomia, porém 47,9% (n=69) precisam realizar atividades que vão contra seu melhor julgamento em algumas situações. Para 75,7% (n=109) a interação com equipe de enfermagem é satisfatória, enquanto para 70,1% (n=101) a interação com médicos é permeada pela desvalorização do trabalho e conhecimentos. Quanto ao salário atual, 79,2% (n=114) o consideram satisfatório; 93,8% (n=135) consideram seu trabalho importante; 88,2% (n=127) estão satisfeitos com o trabalho realizado, e, 80,6% (n=116) consideram que as atividades burocráticas dificultam uma assistência mais qualificada. Ressaltamos a importância das instituições avaliarem as necessidades dos profissionais e buscarem estratégias para aumentar sua satisfação.
O câncer é um dos problemas de saúde pública mais complexos da atualidade, sendo responsável por milhões de óbitos por ano no mundo. No momento do recebimento do diagnóstico de câncer o indivíduo depara-se com a fragilidade da sua existência e a possibilidade da morte torna-se presente em seus pensamentos. O cuidado paliativo se caracteriza por cuidados prestados quando não há possibilidades terapêuticas de cura. Associado a este aspecto, cresce a preocupação em relação à compreensão do paciente com a sua doença e tratamento. O estudo objetiva conhecer os sentimentos e percepções do paciente oncológico em cuidados paliativos. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa, de natureza qualitativa, cuja análise será de abordagem exploratória. O estudo foi composto por sete artigos selecionados nas bases de dados Medline, Pubmed e Scielo no período entre 2010 e 2020. Os estudos apontam que os pacientes apresentam diversos sentimentos e percepções sobre seu estado de saúde, como: insegurança, perda da dignidade, problemas com tomada de decisão, preocupações parentais, redução da qualidade de vida e flutuações de sintomas. Ter conhecimento sobre esses aspectos em um período de vida tão fragilizante pode dar suporte para que novos planos de cuidado possam ser feitos em conjunto com o paciente e sua rede familiar, aliviando o fardo sobre o prognóstico da doença.
Os Cuidados Paliativos são prestados a pacientes com doenças progressivas e irreversíveis quando não há possibilidades terapêuticas de cura. Esse cuidado não objetiva retardar ou acelerar a morte, mas unicamente melhorar a qualidade de vida na terminalidade. Saber realizar um gerenciamento de cuidado efetivo frente aos pacientes nesta etapa de vida é de suma importância para oferecer maior conforto, visto que a cura neste momento não se torna prioridade e poderia, até mesmo, levar maior sofrimento ao doente e seus familiares. Visto isso o objetivo do estudo foi conhecer as dificuldades dos profissionais de enfermagem na gestão do cuidado ao paciente oncológico em cuidados paliativos. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, do tipo revisão integrativa, com três artigos selecionados nas bases de dados Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) e Pubmed entre o período de 2015 e 2020. Após a leitura, análise e interpretação dos dados, pode-se verificar que a principal dificuldade elencada no gerenciamento dos cuidados foi a ausência de capacitação profissional, uma vez que a complexidade do cuidado oncológico ao paciente paliativo requer habilidades tanto técnico-científicas como de relações interpessoais. Há a necessidade de novas pesquisas para elucidar melhor as dificuldades dos profissionais de enfermagem na gestão da área dos cuidados paliativos para promover melhor conforto e um atendimento de excelência nessa etapa tão delicada da vida.
